SELECTION OF THE BEST CONSULTANT FOR SAP ERP PROJECT USING COMBINED AHP-IBA APPROACH
Abstract: In this paper we propose a combined AHP-IBA model for selecting the best SAP consultant for an SAP ERP project. The goal of the SAP Project Manager is to choose the best consultant, the one who is able to implement standard SAP functionalities with quality and on time. When making a decision on the basis of multiple criteria, the traditional Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) method does not take into account the fact that attributes may correlate, assuming that there are no dependencies between them. However, the dependencies of the attributes can often be used to model important knowledge for multiple criteria decision analysis. We propose an extension to the traditional AHP method by applying Interpolative realization of Boolean algebra (IBA), using AHP to determine the criteria weights, and IBA to model the logical interactions among criteria. The research conducted on ERP consultant selection suggests that the decision making process is modelled more accurately if logical interactions between attributes are modelled before applying AH
Time Localization of Abrupt Changes in Cutting Process using Hilbert Huang Transform
Cutting process is extremely dynamical process influenced by different phenomena such as chip formation, dynamical responses and condition of machining system elements. Different phenomena in cutting zone have signatures in different frequency bands in signal acquired during process monitoring. The time localization of signalâs frequency content is very important.
An emerging technique for simultaneous analysis of the signal in time and frequency domain that can be used for time localization of frequency is Hilbert Huang Transform (HHT). It is based on empirical mode decomposition (EMD) of the signal into intrinsic mode functions (IMFs) as simple oscillatory modes. IMFs obtained using EMD can be processed using Hilbert Transform and instantaneous frequency of the signal can be computed.
This paper gives a methodology for time localization of cutting process stop during intermittent turning. Cutting process stop leads to abrupt changes in acquired signal correlated to certain frequency band. The frequency band related to abrupt changes is localized in time using HHT. The potentials and limitations of HHT application in machining process monitoring are shown
The exploration of a category theory-based virtual Geometrical product specification system for design and manufacturing
In order to ensure quality of products and to facilitate global outsourcing, almost all
the so-called âworld-classâ manufacturing companies nowadays are applying various
tools and methods to maintain the consistency of a productâs characteristics
throughout its manufacturing life cycle. Among these, for ensuring the consistency of
the geometric characteristics, a tolerancing language â the Geometrical Product
Specification (GPS) has been widely adopted to precisely transform the functional
requirements from customers into manufactured workpieces expressed as tolerance
notes in technical drawings. Although commonly acknowledged by industrial users as
one of the most successful efforts in integrating existing manufacturing life-cycle
standards, current GPS implementations and software packages suffer from several
drawbacks in their practical use, possibly the most significant, the difficulties in
inferring the data for the âbestâ solutions. The problem stemmed from the foundation
of data structures and knowledge-based system design. This indicates that there need
to be a ânewâ software system to facilitate GPS applications.
The presented thesis introduced an innovative knowledge-based system â the
VirtualGPS â that provides an integrated GPS knowledge platform based on a stable
and efficient database structure with knowledge generation and accessing facilities.
The system focuses on solving the intrinsic product design and production problems
by acting as a virtual domain expert through translating GPS standards and rules into
the forms of computerized expert advices and warnings. Furthermore, this system can
be used as a training tool for young and new engineers to understand the huge amount
of GPS standards in a relative âquickerâ manner.
The thesis started with a detailed discussion of the proposed categorical modelling
mechanism, which has been devised based on the Category Theory. It provided a
unified mechanism for knowledge acquisition and representation, knowledge-based
system design, and database schema modelling. As a core part for assessing this
knowledge-based system, the implementation of the categorical Database
Management System (DBMS) is also presented in this thesis. The focus then moved
on to demonstrate the design and implementation of the proposed VirtualGPS system.
The tests and evaluations of this system were illustrated in Chapter 6. Finally, the
thesis summarized the contributions to knowledge in Chapter 7.
After thoroughly reviewing the project, the conclusions reached construe that the

entire VirtualGPS system was designed and implemented to conform to Category

analyses show that the system facilitates the geometric product manufacturing
operations and benefits the manufacturers and engineers alike from function designs,
to a manufacturing and verification

Z-Numbers-Based Approach to Hotel Service Quality Assessment
In this study, we are analyzing the possibility of using Z-numbers for
measuring the service quality and decision-making for quality improvement in the
hotel industry. Techniques used for these purposes are based on consumer evalu-
ations - expectations and perceptions. As a rule, these evaluations are expressed
in crisp numbers (Likert scale) or fuzzy estimates. However, descriptions of the
respondent opinions based on crisp or fuzzy numbers formalism not in all cases
are relevant. The existing methods do not take into account the degree of con-
fidence of respondents in their assessments. A fuzzy approach better describes
the uncertainties associated with human perceptions and expectations. Linguis-
tic values are more acceptable than crisp numbers. To consider the subjective
natures of both service quality estimates and confidence degree in them, the two-
component Z-numbers Z = (A, B) were used. Z-numbers express more adequately
the opinion of consumers. The proposed and computationally efficient approach
(Z-SERVQUAL, Z-IPA) allows to determine the quality of services and iden-
tify the factors that required improvement and the areas for further development.
The suggested method was applied to evaluate the service quality in small and
medium-sized hotels in Turkey and Azerbaijan, illustrated by the example
Semantic adaptability for the systems interoperability
In the current global and competitive business context, it is essential that enterprises adapt their knowledge resources in order to smoothly interact and collaborate with others. However, due to the existent multiculturalism of people and enterprises, there are different representation views of business processes or products, even inside a same domain. Consequently, one of the main problems found in the interoperability between enterprise systems and applications is related to semantics. The integration and sharing of enterprises knowledge to build a common lexicon, plays an important role to the semantic adaptability of the information systems. The author proposes a framework to support the development of systems to manage dynamic semantic adaptability resolution. It allows different organisations to participate in a common knowledge base building, letting at the same time maintain their own views of the domain, without compromising the integration between them. Thus, systems are able to be aware of new knowledge, and have the capacity to learn from it and to manage its semantic interoperability in a dynamic and adaptable way. The author endorses the vision that in the near future, the semantic adaptability skills of the enterprise systems will be the booster to enterprises collaboration and the appearance of new business opportunities
MS FT-2-2 7 Orthogonal polynomials and quadrature: Theory, computation, and applications
Quadrature rules find many applications in science and engineering. Their analysis is a classical area of applied mathematics and continues to attract considerable attention. This seminar brings together speakers with expertise in a large variety of quadrature rules. It is the aim of the seminar to provide an overview of recent developments in the analysis of quadrature rules. The computation of error estimates and novel applications also are described
Generalized averaged Gaussian quadrature and applications
A simple numerical method for constructing the optimal generalized averaged Gaussian quadrature formulas will be presented. These formulas exist in many cases in which real positive GaussKronrod formulas do not exist, and can be used as an adequate alternative in order to estimate the error of a Gaussian rule. We also investigate the conditions under which the optimal averaged Gaussian quadrature formulas and their truncated variants are internal
