International audienceThe inaugural SIGCHI Summer School for Computational Fabrication and Smart Matter, co-located with the Symposium on Computational Fabrication, invited both PhD students and world-class experts to participate in an engaging week working on engineering-focused research problems in human-computer interaction. The program not only taught students how to realize their ideas as physical prototypes but also sought to connect the traditionally disparate disciplines of computational fabrication and smart matter. This department is part of a special issue on physical computing and shape-changing interfaces
