Mobile Ad Hoc Network (MANET) is a collection of two or more devices or nodes or terminals with wireless communications and networking capability that communicate with each other without the aid of any centralized administrator also the wireless nodes that can dynamically form a network to exchange information without using any existing fixed network infrastructure. And it's an autonomous system in which mobile hosts connected by wireless links are free to be dynamically and some time act as routers at the same time, and we discuss in this paper the distinct characteristics of traditional wired networks, including network configuration may change at any time, there is no direction or limit the movement and so on, and thus needed a new optional path Agreement (Routing Protocol) to identify nodes for these actions communicate with each other path, An ideal choice way the agreement should not only be able to find the right path, and the Ad Hoc Network must be able to adapt to changing network of this type at any time. and we talk in details in this paper all the information of Mobile Ad Hoc Network which include the History of ad hoc, wireless ad hoc, wireless mobile approaches and types of mobile ad Hoc networks, and then we present more than 13 types of the routing Ad Hoc Networks protocols have been proposed. In this paper, the more representative of routing protocols, analysis of individual characteristics and advantages and disadvantages to collate and compare, and present the all applications or the Possible Service of Ad Hoc Networks.Comment: 24 Pages, JGraph-Hoc Journa

Clustering Algorithm in Vehicular Ad-hoc Networks: A Brief Summary

    Get PDF
An Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) application requires vehicles to be connected to each other and to roadside units to share information, thus reducing fatalities and improving traffic congestion. Vehicular Ad hoc Networks (VANETs) is one of the main forms of network designed for ITS in which information is broadcasted amongst vehicular nodes. However, the broadcast reliability in VANETs face a number of challenges - dynamic routing being one of the major issues. Clustering, a technique used to group nodes based on certain criteria, has been suggested as a solution to this problem. This paper gives a summary of the core criteria of some of the clustering algorithms issues along with a performance comparison and a development evolution roadmap, in an attempt to understand and differentiate different aspects of the current research and suggest future research insights

The Dynamics of Vehicular Networks in Urban Environments

Vehicular Ad hoc NETworks (VANETs) have emerged as a platform to support intelligent inter-vehicle communication and improve traffic safety and performance. The road-constrained, high mobility of vehicles, their unbounded power source, and the emergence of roadside wireless infrastructures make VANETs a challenging research topic. A key to the development of protocols for inter-vehicle communication and services lies in the knowledge of the topological characteristics of the VANET communication graph. This paper explores the dynamics of VANETs in urban environments and investigates the impact of these findings in the design of VANET routing protocols. Using both real and realistic mobility traces, we study the networking shape of VANETs under different transmission and market penetration ranges. Given that a number of RSUs have to be deployed for disseminating information to vehicles in an urban area, we also study their impact on vehicular connectivity. Through extensive simulations we investigate the performance of VANET routing protocols by exploiting the knowledge of VANET graphs analysis.Comment: Revised our testbed with even more realistic mobility traces. Used the location of real Wi-Fi hotspots to simulate RSUs in our study. Used a larger, real mobility trace set, from taxis in Shanghai. Examine the implications of our findings in the design of VANET routing protocols by implementing in ns-3 two routing protocols (GPCR & VADD). Updated the bibliography section with new research work

Vehicular ad-hoc network (VANET), identified as a mobile ad hoc network MANETs with several added constraints. Basically, in VANETs, the network is established on the fly based on the availability of vehicles on roads and supporting infrastructures along the roads, such as base stations. Vehicles and road-side infrastructures are required to provide communication facilities, particularly when enough vehicles are not available on the roads for effective communication. VANETs are crucial for providing a wide range of safety and non-safety applications to road users. However, the specific fundamental problem in VANET is the challenge of creating effective communication between two fast-moving vehicles. Therefore, message routing is an issue for many safety and non-safety of VANETs applications. The challenge in designing a robust but reliable message dissemination technique is primarily due to the stringent QoS requirements of the VANETs safety applications. This paper investigated various methods and conducted literature on an idea to develop a model for efficient and reliable message dissemination routing techniques in VANET

Failure of communication link in mobile ADHOC network is major issue. For the failure of link the performance of network is degraded. Due to mobility of mobile node brake the communication link and path of routing is failed. For the repairing of routing node used various algorithm such as leader election, distributed and selection algorithm. The failure of link decease the performance of routing protocol in mobile ad-hoc network, for the improvement of quality of service in mobile ad-hoc network various authors proposed a different model and method for prediction of link. The prediction of link decreases the failure rate of mobile node during communication. The leader election algorithm plays a major role in link failure prediction algorithm the process of link failure prediction implied in form of distributed node distribution. Proposed a new link stability prediction method based on current link-related or user-related information in shadowed environments. The modified protocol acquired the process of thresholds priority Oder on the basic of neighbor’s node. The selection of neighbor node deepens on the mode operation in three sections. According to order of state create cluster of priority of group. After creation of group calculate average threshold value and compare each group value with minimum threshold value and pass the control message for communication. Through this process mode of activation state of node is minimized the time of route establishment and maintenance. The selection of proper node in minimum time and other node in sleep mode the consumption of power is reduces. We modified SBRP protocol for selection of node during on demand request node according to sleep and activation mode of communication. Each node locally assigned priority value of node. For the evaluation of performance used network simulator NS-2.35. And simulate two protocol one is AODV-LE protocol, these protocol patch are available for the simulation purpose. And another protocol is AODV-LE-ME. AODV-LE-ME protocol is modified protocol of leader election protocol for the selection of mobile node during the communication. Design and Analysis of SD_DWCA - A Mobility based clustering of Homogeneous MANETs

This paper deals with the design and analysis of the distributed weighted clustering algorithm SD_DWCA proposed for homogeneous mobile ad hoc networks. It is a connectivity, mobility and energy based clustering algorithm which is suitable for scalable ad hoc networks. The algorithm uses a new graph parameter called strong degree defined based on the quality of neighbours of a node. The parameters are so chosen to ensure high connectivity, cluster stability and energy efficient communication among nodes of high dynamic nature. This paper also includes the experimental results of the algorithm implemented using the network simulator NS2. The experimental results show that the algorithm is suitable for high speed networks and generate stable clusters with less maintenance overhead
