    Instantaneous approach to IEEE Std. 1459 power terms and quality indices

    Based on an instantaneous analysis approach to the IEEE Std. 1459, the authors demonstrated in previous works that the effective apparent power should not be calculated including the rms neutral current and the rms line to line voltage terms. The use of these terms drives to expressions of power magnitudes that are overvaluated and disagree with well-accepted definitions. By using the instantaneous approach, new power terms are proposed. Based on these terms, new power quality indices and new expressions of the unbalanced power terms are presented in this paper. An experimental case is used to compare the power magnitudes and power quality indices obtained with both approaches. Engenharia Elétrica.A qualidade da energia elétrica consumida por dispositivos eletroeletrônicos torna-se ao passar dos anos, cada vez mais importante. O monitoramento e adequação da energia disponível para consumo fazse extremamente relevante no emprego do correto e esperado funcionamento de equipamentos. A aplicação de metodologias de comunicação entre equipamentos é de grande importância em ambientes industriais, haja vista todos os vieses existentes em respectivos ambientes. O desenvolvimento de inteligências, mais especificamente softwares, torna processos muitas vezes longos e exaustivos, em processos rápidos, acessíveis e de fácil acesso aos usuários. Nesse contexto, o objetivo deste trabalho será de desenvolver uma solução de análise de qualidade de energia autônoma, de fácil implementação, via software. O texto conta com todas as etapas de preparação do hardware e desenvolvimento do software do projeto. Os resultados são satisfatórios e atendem aos requisitos de análise dos parâmetros da rede elétrica referentes a qualidade de energia.The electric power quality consumed by electrical and electronic devices becomes more important year after year. The monitoring and adequacy of the available energy for consumption is extremely relevant to the correct functioning of equipment. The use of communication methodologies between equipment has great importance at industrial environments, due to all outputs existing. The development of intelligences, more specifically software, turn hard working and exhausting processes into quick, accessible and easy to manage processes. In this way, the objective of this work is to develop a solution to the power quality analysis, being easy to use and to implement. All steps that took place, like hardware preparation and software development, are included. The results are satisfactory and fulfill the requirements of power quality parameters analysis
