Mobile telephony - cooperation and value-added are key to further success
The current problems in mobile telephony are leading critics to make overly pessimistic predictions that 3G â the third-generation mobile phone system â will never become profitable. However, the resulting calls not to introduce 3G and instead directly back alternative wireless technologies (e.g. WLAN) are a step too far. Ultimately, a profit- oriented service can only create significant value-added with a mix of both 3G and WLAN technologies. It is notable that no attractive broadband-dependent applications have emerged as yet. The typical user is only interested in the value-added the application provides, not the underlying wireless technology. Although mobile telephony remains one of the most dynamic areas of the economy, euphoria is misplaced. Advanced wireless technologies will on no account become profitable before the start of the next decade. But even that is not a given; this will challenge the entrepreneurial spirit of network operators, mobile terminal manufacturers and service providers alike.ICT, IT, mobile, telephony, UMTS, WLAN

Network Authentication, Authorization, and Accounting has
been used since before the days of the Internet as we know it
today. Authentication asks the question, âWho or what are
you?â Authorization asks, âWhat are you allowed to do?â And fi nally,
accounting wants to know, âWhat did you do?â These fundamental
security building blocks are being used in expanded ways today. The
fi rst part of this two-part series focused on the overall concepts of
AAA, the elements involved in AAA communications, and highlevel
approaches to achieving specifi c AAA goals. It was published in
IPJ Volume 10, No. 1[0]. This second part of the series discusses the
protocols involved, specifi c applications of AAA, and considerations
for the future of AAA
Future of Wireless Data Communication
This thesis develops four scenarios, illustrating the future of wireless data communication
Users' perception of selected e-commerce sites in Nigeria
Unprecedented growth in technology usage has led to the proliferation of e-commerce sites and their adoption globally. However, there are factors hindering the adoption and full exploitation of e-commerce sites in Nigeria. In view of this, this study examined users' perception of selected e-commerce sites in Nigeria, using students of the University of Ilorin as a case study. The population of the study comprised mainly of 5500 students from four faculties selected from the University of Ilorin using a simple random sampling technique. A structured questionnaire was used as the main instrument for data collection using descriptive statistics to analyze field data. A Purposive sampling technique was adopted in the selection of students for this study. The sample size comprised of 300 students selected purposively from the four Faculties. Findings revealed that the majority of users patronized e-commerce sites such as Jumia, Konga, OLX, and Jiji. However, users of e-commerce sites raised issues of privacy concerns, low-security awareness, and lack of user education. In conclusion, recommendations were made towards improving the adoption and use of e-commerce sites in Nigeria

Adoption of wireless internet parks: An empirical study in Qatar
This paper examines the adoption of free wireless internet parks (iPark) by Qatari citizens as means of accessing electronic services from public parks. The Qatar government has launched the iPark concept with a view of providing free internet access for all citizens while enjoying the outdoors. By offering free wireless Internet access, the Qatari government encourages its citizen's to actively participate in the global information society with a view of bridging the digital divide. Using a survey based study this research set out to examine the Qatari citizens' perceptions of the iPark initiative. Results of the survey showed that there is a positive level of relation between the independent variables, usefulness, ease of use, Internet safety, and Internet speed/response time and one dependent variable, intention to use the iPark in Qatar. The paper provides a discussion on the key findings, research implications, limitations, and future directions for the iPark initiative in Qatar

Wireless application system and application has large potential due to the very personal
and intimate nature of the device and high targeting possibilities. Due to rapid
advancement of advertising and informing technologies recent years, the concepts and
such applications have been significantly extended. This research will look deeply into
the acceptance level of implementing the wireless system at the defined area. In this
project the application and the function of advertising on mobile device has been
modified to another alternatives that can enhance the environment surrounding us. This
project is basically will be functioning as a reminder system. This system will establish
the connection between the server and the Personal Digital Assistants (PDAs). The
system will deliver location-aware of information that allows the transition info from the
server to the PDAs using WiFi pull-based technology. The objective of this system being
developed is to enhance the idea and the technologies of wireless nowadays which
definitely can be implemented in various ways later on. In this project, several techniques
have been used starting with ideas and information research and gathering that have been
done through journals, existing paper work, and previous systems that create by previous
students. This report covers the background study, literature review and theory based on
research, and also methodology used in research and design phase. In research,
questionnaire is used to gather information pertaining to user preferences. Meanwhile, in
design phase, the methodologies will be explained more in chapter three (3). The lasttwo
part of this report covers result and discussion from the research and testing phase, and
also recommendation for future work.
