Virtual reconstructions of historical and cultural heritage sites and their conventional grading
Numerous historical and cultural reconstructions without an established systematization have accumulated in the contemporary virtual space. At the same time, they differ significantly from one another. In this regard, a rather critical task at this point is the gradation and systematization of information on historical and cultural reconstructions. To meet the objective of this study, basic concepts were investigated, such as βvirtualityβ, βvisualityβ and others, which are necessary for the determination of the final results.
The article considers conditional grading of virtual reconstructions developed by the authors. Various examples and options are provided for every type of reconstruction, making it possible to subdivide the currently available historical and cultural reconstructions into three primary groups:
First group - closed virtual reconstruction: local, narrative or retrospective.
Second group - research or location virtual reconstruction: perimetral or cognitive.
Third group - projected virtual reconstruction: static or effective (complex sensor).
Classification into three primary groups and associated six types greatly facilitates the orientation in the various historical and cultural virtual spaces, including their producers and consumers, also allowing to update the terminological communication of researchers and developers in this subject field.peer-reviewe

Development of modern methods for the diagnostics of murals in architectural monuments
The paper studies monitoring of the state of murals, retrieval of data pertaining to this state and management and storing of the said data. The possibility of integration of traditional methods of mural mapping and modern methods of data visualization, including new Google Project Tango device technology for fixation of complex textures of inner 3D volumes of architectural monuments has been investigated (for instance Assumption Cathedral).
We further discuss the express-scanning of automated cartogramming for further comparison of states and methods of assessing the damage done to the mural. Results indicate that additional work is needed to improve the precision of the method.peer-reviewe

To whom and why should I connect? Co-author Recommendation based on Powerful and Similar Peers
Sie, R. L. L., Drachsler, H., Bitter-Rijpkema, M., & Sloep, P. B. (2012). To whom and why should I connect? Co-author Recommendation based on Powerful and Similar Peers. International Journal of Technology Enhanced Learning (IJTEL), 4(1), 121-137. doi:10.1504/IJTEL.2012.048314The present article offers preliminary outcomes of a user study that investigated the acceptance of a recommender system that suggests future co- authors for scientific article writing. The recommendation approach is twofold: network information (betweenness centrality) and author (keyword) similarity are used to compute the utility of peers in a network of co-authors. Two sets of recommendations were provided to the participants: Set one focused on all candidate authors, including co-authors of a target user to strengthen current bonds and strive for acceptance of a certain research topic. Set two focused on solely new co-authors of a target user to foster creativity, excluding current co- authors. A small-scale evaluation suggests that the utility-based recommendation approach is promising, but to maximize outcome, we need to 1) compensate for researchersβ interests that change over time, and 2) account for multi-person co-authored papers
Visual Editor of Scenarios for Virtual Laboratories
Β© 2017 IEEE. The paper presents the implementation of a visual script editor that allows you to design a series of experiments for virtual educational laboratories. Having compared our approach with analogs, we identified a number of advantages that were described. It was shown that the concept of visual programming is important for organizing the right methodical work. The connection of the above approach with the possibility of explicit control over students' involvement and methods of its evaluation is described
Problems of Designing Geoportal Interfaces
The manuscript is devoted to analysis of the problem of designing graphical
geoportal interfaces. The support points for the problem solutions are formulated and
rationale of each of them is given. The emphasis was placed on the following
orientations: to a flexible process of interface development, the need to introduce
adaptability, progressive development, the motivated abandonment of geospatial
content management systems and the use of third-party libraries where necessary,
problem-solving and achieving goals. The lists of basic functional and qualitative
requirements for graphical geoportal interfaces are given. In the last segment, the
authors share their experience in the development of geoportal solutions
Formula Markup Algorithm for Search in Scientific Documents
Β© 2018 IEEE. This paper discusses the approach to a semantic search of mathematical expressions which allows seeking formulae by textual definitions of their variables. The proposed method allows establishing relations between terms, variables, and formulae. This method was tested in two different search services with different preprocessing approaches. The first service uses full-text indexing and responds to a query, the second uses ontology concepts and establishes relations in advance. In both cases, the proposed method produced high-relevant results. The method is applicable for search in documents containing mathematical expressions regardless the preliminary markup approach
Services for formation of digital documents metadata in the formats of international science-based databases
Β© 2018 CEUR-WS. All rights reserved. This paper contains the review of modern scientometric databases. The specificity of the representation of scientific materials in them is highlighted. The integration methods based on automation of the process of creating metadata for documents, included in digital scientific collections, are presented. Features of the formation of metadata for international scientometric databases on mathematical and computer sciences are noted. An algorithm for the automated formation of metadata in the format of the Russian scientific citation index (RSCI) is given. To automatically parse the text of articles, several regular expression patterns have been created, with the help of which the main metadata groups were selected. The algorithm is implemented as a service, consisting of modules for analyzing the structure of documents, automatically selecting documents according to the established order (for example, lexicographic), extracting the annotation block, the alphabetical index generating module, creating a bibliographic description of the article for writing headers of this article, converting documents to the portable document format (pdf), according to the determined parameters. The final module is the formation of metadata for exports to the RSCI. Approbation of the algorithm for the collection of articles of the journal βRussian Digital Librariesβ was noted. The service for the formation of metadata for the documents of the digital collection Lobachevskii DML, made in accordance with the diagrams of the fundamental metadata of the European Digital Mathematical Library (EuDML) and the bibliographic database DBLP, is presented. Templates for showing metadata of articles of digital collections Lobachevskii DML in accordance with the scheme NISO JATS V1.0 are prepared. Plugins for the Open Journal System, allowing generation of metadata for science-based databases for downloadable articles are developed
