Changing times for animal damage control

At present, the USDA’s Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS) is in the process of taking over the national animal damage control program from the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service. I discuss the history of the federal animal damage control program with the U.S. Department of Agriculture beginning in the late 1800s. Once USDA assumes full control of the present program, the areas of emphasis will be cooperative operational control, research, and informational and educational efforts. For the first time, the program will have a Secretary’s advisory committee on ADC. An interdepartmental policy committee chaired by APHIS will involve other USDA agencies: Forest Service, Extension Service, Economic Research Service, Agricultural Research Service, and Cooperative State Research Service. Between dirigism and laissez-faire: Effects of implementing the science policy priority for biotechnology in the Netherlands

A Program Committee Biotechnology was established in the Netherlands for the period 1981¿1985, to stimulate biotechnological research and its contribution to innovation. Effects of its activities on researchers and on the research system have been measured in terms of recognition of and commitment to the priorities and approaches of the Program Committee. Results from the questionnaire survey and the interviews are presented, and are used to assess the implementation strategy of the committee and the dynamics of orientation of researchers to new priorities. A consciously orchestrating strategy, with some accommodation to the interests of the field, appears to be productive. This may be a generally useful middle course between dirigism and laissez-faire, because it exploits the leverage that resides in the strategies of scientists to mobilize resources for their work

Establishing accidental insurance at the workplace by health and safety committee program is expected to gain the work motivation and employee performance. This research is explain the impact of health and safety committee program to the work motivation, the impact of health and safety committee program to the employee performance and the impact of work motivation to the employee performance of PT. Citra Gading Asritama at Mall Dinoyo City development, with the sample amount 78 people. The data is collected by questioner. This research is an explanatory research with the technique of data analysis by using descriptive analysis and path analysis. The result of the research conveys the work safety committee program (X1) directly gives a significant impact to the work motivation (Z). The health committee (X2) directly gives a significant impact to the work motivation (Z). The work safety committee (X1) indirectly gives a significant impact to the employee performance (Y).The work health committee (X2) directly gives a significant impact to the employee performance (Y)
