Central banking and the economics of information
This article concerns the potential relevance of information technology to three aspects of central banking: setting the objectives of monetary policy, ensuring the integrity and security of financial system infrastructure, and maintaining the transparency of decision-making. Regarding integrity and security of infrastructure, a revised role for central banks may be appropriate. However, recent innovations in technology and advances in learning confirm the wisdom of central banks' efforts to control inflation and maintain their own transparency.Payment systems ; Monetary policy

A business planning framework for WiMAX applications
Mobile networking refers to wireless technologies which provide communications between devices. Applications for mobile networking have a broad scope as they can be applied to many situations in either industrial or commercial sectors. The challenge for firms is to better match market-induced variability to the organizational issues and systems necessary for technological innovation. This chapter develops a business planning framework for mobile networking applications. This framework recognises the fluidity of the situation when trying to anticipate and model emerging wireless applications. The business planning framework outlined in this chapter is a generic model which can be used by companies to assess the business case for applications utilizing mobile networking technologies
Technology and Service Quality in the Banking Industry: An Empirical Study of Various Factors in Electronic Banking Services
Technology-based self service has greatly changed the way that service Firms and consumers
interact and are raising a host of research and practice issues relating to the delivery of e-service which has
become increasingly important not only in determining the success or failure of electronic commerce but also
in providing consumers with a superior experience with respect to the interactive flow of information. The
purpose of this research study was to establish the relationship between technology and service quality in the
banking industry in Nigeria. The research was carried out through a cross sectional smvey design which
questioned respondents one e-banking services. The population of study mainly constituted of customers of
Oceanic bank within Lagos metropolis and its environs. The respondents of the study were customers of banks
using e-banking services (internet banking, mobile banking and AIM). The sample in this study consisted of
120 respondents who are users of thee-banking services. The data collected was analyzed by use of frequency,
percentage, means and correlation analysis. The findings revealed that secure services as the most important
dimension, followed by convenient location of AIM, efficiency (not need to wait, ability to set up accounts
so that the customer can perform transactions immediately, accurately of records, user friendly, ease of user,
complaint satisfaction, accurate transactions and operation in 24 h)

With increasing usage of mobile telephony, and the trend towards additional mobile Internet usage, privacy and anonymity become more and more important. Previously-published anonymous communication schemes aim to obscure their users' network addresses, because real-world identity can be easily be derived from this information. We propose modifications to a novel call-management architecture, the digital marketplace, which will break this link, therefore enabling truly anonymous network access
