History of self-helping systems: Fraternities and clubs of temperance at historical territory of Bohemia, Moravia and Silesia

Background: Nowadays, we have very little knowledge about the beginnings of the efforts of treatment and prevention of addiction. There are only short works, that have surveyed the topic in our country so far, but these are not following the topic directly, only marginally. The history of treatment of alcohol addiction is not described in detail in the Czech Republic until the beginning of the 20th century. But before this, there was a great deal of effort of many people who made the first steps in the struggle against heavy drinking, alcoholism, or the initial cases of the plague of spirits. Aim: The aim of this research work is to map the establishment, operation and extinction of associations and brotherhoods of temperance in the historical territory of Bohemia, Moravia and Silesia. Methods: The processed data from the 19th and early 20th centuries used at the research work were searched and cumulated with the help of digital libraries: the digital library Brno and the National Library in the collection Kramerius 5 and kramerius.medvik under the keywords mentioned below. Results and conclusion: The data show that there were 10 and one hopeful society (the Society of Temperance for Juveniles) in our historical territory in the 19th century and at the beginning of the 20th century. One of them...Východiska: V dnešní době máme velmi malé povědomí o prvopočátcích snahy léčby a prevence závislosti. Zmapované jsou v naší zemi doposud pouze krátké práce, které se tématu nevěnují přímo, nýbrž pouze okrajově. Historie léčby závislosti na alkoholu je u nás podrobněji popsaná až počátkem 20. století, vznikem Zemského protialkoholního spolku. Před tímto vznikem stálo ale velké úsilí mnoha lidí, kteří se zasadili o první postupy tehdy boje proti pijáctví, alkoholismu, nebo prvotních případech, kořalečního moru. Cíl: Cílem této výzkumné práce je zmapovat vznik, působení a zánik spolků a bratrstev střídmosti na historickém území Čech, Moravy a Slezska. Metody: Zpracovaná data z doby 19. a počátku 20. století v práci byla vyhledávaná a kumulovaná za pomocí digitálních knihoven: digitální knihovna Brno a Národní knihovny ve fondu Kramerius 5 a kramerius.medvik pod níže zmíněnými klíčovými slovy. Výsledky a závěry: Z nalezených dat vyplývá, že spolků a bratrstev střídmosti na našem historickém území v 19. století a na počátku 20. století existovalo celkem 10 a jeden nadějný spolek (spolek střídmosti pro mladistvé). Primary Succession - study methods and pollen analysis opportunities

Práce se zaměřuje na hlavní metody studia primární sukcese. Srovnává jejich výhody a nevýhody, škály jejich použití a výstupy, které přinášejí. Kvůli trvání sukcesního vývoje řádově ve stovkách let se mimo přímých metod studia v reálném čase často používá i nepřímá metoda - substituce prostoru za čas, využívající takzvané chronosekvence - společenstva různého sukcesního stáří tvořící sukcesní řadu. Nedodržení kritického předpokladu stejné trajektorie vývoje těchto společenstev vede často k nesprávným závěrům o průběhu sukcese. Práce představuje na příkladech tento problém a způsoby, jak mu předcházet a nabízí alternativní metodu - pylovou analýzu. Ta je v průměru používána pro větší prostorové i časové škály, částečně se ale se substitucí prostoru za čas škálově překrývá. Práce uvádí biasy pylové analýzy a způsoby jejich řešení/omezení a představuje opuštěné, částečně zatopené lomy jako vhodné prostředí pro použití této metody ke studiu sukcese na rychle rostlém limnickém sedimentu.This thesis focuses on the main study methods of primary succession. It compares their advantages and disadvantages, the scales of usage and the outputs they bring. Due to the duration of a succession development (in hundreds of years), indirect approach - space-for- time substitution using chronosequences (sites that differ only in age and make up succession series) is often used instead of direct study methods. Breach of the the critical assumption that all sites follow the same trajectory may lead to false conclusions about the successional development. This thesis presents examples showing this problem, ways to prevent it and offers an alternative method - pollen analysis. Pollen analysis is on average used for larger spatial and temporal scales but partially overlaps scales of space-for-time substitution. The thesis presents biases of pollen analysis and ways how to solve/limit them and introduces abandoned, partially flooded quarries as a suitable environment for the use of this method to study succession inferred from rapidly growing limnic sediment.Katedra botanikyDepartment of BotanyFaculty of SciencePřírodovědecká fakult

The Oldest Part of the Library of the Municipal Museum Bechyně

Tématem diplomové práce je charakteristika nejstarší části knihovny Městského muzea Bechyně na základě průzkumu. Průzkum byl zaměřen na identifikaci tisků, typologii knižních vazeb, provenien- ci, fyzický stav a návrh restaurování. Od struktury průzkumu se odvíjela skladba textu. Součástí vý- sledků je katalog starých tisků a ucelená historie muzea. Výstupem pro Městské muzeum Bechyně jsou formuláře s údaji k jednotlivým knihám s doporučeným návrhem na restaurování.The aim of the thesis is description of the oldest part of the library of the Bechyně Municipal Mu- seum. The essential step was a close survey of the library collection. It was focused on identifica- tion of the prints, typology of bookbindings, provenance records, physical condition of the books, and conservation recommendations. The same structure is reflected in the text of the thesis. One of the results is a catalogue of the old prints and history of the museum. Systematic Electrification of the Countryside on the Example of South Bohemian Municipalities

Diplomová práce se zabývá soustavnou elektrizací - tj. výrobou a rozvodem elektrické energie - v období první československé republiky. Pro objasnění tohoto dlouhodobého hospodářského i sociálního fenoménu meziválečného období v Československu stručně nastiňuje na celostátní úrovni utvářený právní rámec, sestávající z řady zákonů. Z nich jsou představeny základní aspekty jako všeužitečnost, finanční účast státu nebo podpora elektrizace venkova. Práce se blíže zaměřuje na konkrétní oblast, a to na jižní Čechy. V kontextu tohoto širšího regionu vysvětluje principy soustavné elektrizace na činnosti Jihočeských elektráren, a.s. v Českých Budějovicích a Lužnického elektrárenského svazu, s.r.o. v Táboře. Rozebírá také specifika organizace elektrizace v jižních Čechách - rozdělení úloh všeužitečných společností na stavbu elektrické sítě a výrobu proudu (první jmenovaná) a organizaci elektrizace obcí a distribuci elektřiny (druhá). Výzkumem zejména úředních a editovaných pramenů, doplněných o dobový regionální tisk, přibližuje autor průběh elektrizace v oblasti, kde převládá venkovské osídlení a zemědělský způsob obživy. Na příkladu dvou sídelních jednotek -...This diploma thesis focuses on the systematic electrification - i.e. the production and distribution of electric power - in the era of the First Czechoslovak Republic. Based on several important acts and regulations, the author analyses and shortly introduces the development of the law system (connected with this phenomenon). He illustrates some fundamental aspects of the process of electrification, such as the financial participation of the state, the electric utility companies or the subsidization of the countryside electrification. As an example, the author then presents, the regional autonomy (nejsem si jistá, co tohle znamená, ale protože je to hodně specifikovaný, dala bych určitý člen) of Tábor in the South Bohemia District. Based on this, he aims to introduce the process of this long-term economic and social phenomenon in interwar Czechoslovakia. The author uses mainly historical administrative sources, published sources, and regional press, to show the development of electrification in the area with small rural municipalities and its agriculture-based economy. History of medical emergency services in the Czech Republic

The work focuses on a historical development of the institute of emergency services as coordinated activities, including development of the personnel and materially-technical provision, legal anchoring and development of field prestige, including the latter-day prestige, with a focus on the territory of the Czech Republic. Therefore, the aim was therefore to map out each period in terms of providing coordinated emergency activities, describe their legal definition in time and record the personnel and materially-technical equipment. Qualitative research investigation using historical analysis together with a study of historical sources, including quantitative survey research for objectification of the data obtained from a questionnaire survey, mapping public opinion not only to the prestige of the field itself, but also through questions corresponding with this area was used for identification of the aforementioned objectives. The work shows a summary of events set in a historical framework, leading to foundation of the first emergency and rescue service facilities, including their further development. It presents development of the legal definition of emergency services as well as...Práce se zabývá historickým vývojem institutu záchranné služby jako činnosti koordinované včetně vývoje personálního a věcně-technického zabezpečení, právního ukotvení a vývoje prestiže oboru, včetně prestiže v době současné se zaměřením na území České republiky. Cílem tedy bylo zmapovat jednotlivá období z hlediska poskytování koordinovaných záchranných činností, popsat jejich právní vymezení v čase a zaznamenat personální a věcně-technické vybavení. Pro zjištění uvedených cílů bylo použito kvalitativního výzkumného šetření za použití historické analýzy se studiem historických pramenů, včetně kvantitativního výzkumného šetření pro objektivizaci dat získaných z dotazníkového šetření, mapujícího názor veřejnosti nejen k prestiži oboru samotného, ale i otázek s touto problematikou korespondujících. Práce udává přehled událostí zasazených do historického rámce, vedoucích k vzniku prvních zařízení poskytujících služby záchranné, včetně jejich dalšího vývoje. Z tohoto hlediska představuje nejen jednotlivá období, ale i poskytovatele těchto činností.
