    Emotion AI-Driven Sentiment Analysis: A Survey, Future Research Directions, and Open Issues

    The essential use of natural language processing is to analyze the sentiment of the author via the context. This sentiment analysis (SA) is said to determine the exactness of the underlying emotion in the context. It has been used in several subject areas such as stock market prediction, social media data on product reviews, psychology, judiciary, forecasting, disease prediction, agriculture, etc. Many researchers have worked on these areas and have produced significant results. These outcomes are beneficial in their respective fields, as they help to understand the overall summary in a short time. Furthermore, SA helps in understanding actual feedback shared across di erent platforms such as Amazon, TripAdvisor, etc. The main objective of this thorough survey was to analyze some of the essential studies done so far and to provide an overview of SA models in the area of emotion AI-driven SA. In addition, this paper o ers a review of ontology-based SA and lexicon-based SA along with machine learning models that are used to analyze the sentiment of the given context. Furthermore, this work also discusses di erent neural network-based approaches for analyzing sentiment. Finally, these di erent approaches were also analyzed with sample data collected from Twitter. Among the four approaches considered in each domain, the aspect-based ontology method produced 83% accuracy among the ontology-based SAs, the term frequency approach produced 85% accuracy in the lexicon-based analysis, and the support vector machine-based approach achieved 90% accuracy among the other machine learning-based approaches.Ministerio de Educación (MOE) en Taiwán N/

    DomainSenticNet: An Ontology and a Methodology Enabling Domain-aware Sentic Computing

    [EN] In recent years, SenticNet and OntoSenticNet have represented important developments in the novel interdisciplinary field of research known as sentic computing, enabling the development of a variety of Sentic applications. In this paper, we propose an extension of the OntoSenticNet ontology, named DomainSenticNet, and contribute an unsupervised methodology to support the development of domain-aware Sentic applications. We developed an unsupervised methodology that, for each concept in OntoSenticNet, mines semantically related concepts from WordNet and Probase knowledge bases and computes domain distributional information from the entire collection of Kickstarter domain-specific crowdfunding campaigns. Subsequently, we applied DomainSenticNet to a prototype tool for Kickstarter campaign authoring and success prediction, demonstrating an improvement in the interpretability of sentiment intensities. DomainSenticNet is an extension of the OntoSenticNet ontology that integrates each of the 100,000 concepts included in OntoSenticNet with a set of semantically related concepts and domain distributional information. The defined unsupervised methodology is highly replicable and can be easily adapted to build similar domain-aware resources from different domain corpora and external knowledge bases.     Understanding user behavior aspects on emergency mobile applications during emergency communications using NLP and text mining techniques

    Abstract. The use of mobile devices has been skyrocketing in our society. Users can access and share any type of information in a timely manner through these devices using different social media applications. This enabled users to increase their awareness of ongoing events such as election campaigns, sports updates, movie releases, disaster occurrences, and studies. The attractiveness, affordability, and two-way communication capabilities empowered these mobile devices that support various social media platforms to be central to emergency communication as well. This makes a mobile-based emergency application an attractive communication tool during emergencies. The emergence of mobile-based emergency communication has intrigued us to learn about the user behavior related to the usage of these applications. Our study was mainly conducted on emergency apps in Nordic countries such as Finland, Sweden, and Norway. To understand the user objects regarding the usage of emergency mobile applications we leveraged various Natural Language Processing and Text Mining techniques. VADER sentiment tool was used to predict and track users’ review polarity of a particular application over time. Lately, to identify factors that affect users’ sentiments, we employed topic modeling techniques such as the Latent Dirichlet Allocation (LDA) model. This model identifies various themes discussed in the user reviews and the result of each theme will be represented by the weighted sum of words in the corpus. Even though LDA succeeds in highlighting the user-related factors, it fails to identify the aspects of the user, and the topic definition from the LDA model is vague. Hence we leveraged Aspect Based Sentiment Analysis (ABSA) methods to extract the user aspects from the user reviews. To perform this task we consider fine-tuning DeBERTa (a variant of the BERT model). BERT is a Bidirectional Encoder Representation of transformer architecture which allows the model to learn the context in the text. Following this, we performed a sentence pair sentiment classification task using different variants of BERT. Later, we dwell on different sentiments to highlight the factors and the categories that impact user behavior most by leveraging the Empath categorization technique. Finally, we construct a word association by considering different Ontological vocabularies related to mobile applications and emergency response and management systems. The insights from the study can be used to identify the user aspect terms, predict the sentiment of the aspect term in the review provided, and find how the aspect term impacts the user perspective on the usage of mobile emergency applications

    Sentiment analysis is a broad research area in academic as well as business field. The term sentiment refers to the feelings or opinion of the person towards some particular domain. Hence it is also known as opinion mining. It leads to the subjective impressions towards the domain, not facts. It can be expressed in terms of polarity, reviews or previously by thumbs up and down to denote positive and negative sentiments respectively. Sentiments can be analyzed using NLP, statistics or machine learning techniques. Sentiment analysis may ask questions regarding “customer satisfaction and dissatisfaction, “public opinion towards new iPhone series launched” etc. In real world, public or consumer opinions about some product or brand are very important for its sell. Hence sentiment analysis is a very important research area for real life applications i.e. decision making. However various methods were introduced for performing sentiment analysis, still that are not efficient in extracting the sentiment features from the given content of text. Naïve Bayes, Support Vector Machine, Maximum Entropy are the machine learning algorithms used for sentiment analysis which has only a limited sentiment classification category ranging between positive and negative. Especially supervised and unsupervised algorithms have only limited accuracy in handling polarity shift and binary classification problem. Even though the advancement in sentiment Analysis technique there are various issues still to be noticed and make the analysis not accurately and efficiently. So this paper presents the survey on various sentiment Analysis methodologies and approaches in detailed. This will be helpful to earn clear knowledge about sentiment analysis methodologies.
