Thermodynamic relations for entropy and temperature of multi-horizons black holes
We present some entropy and temperature relations of multi-horizons, even
including the "virtual" horizon. These relations are related to product,
division and sum of entropy and temperature of multi-horizons. We obtain the
additional thermodynamic relations of both static and rotating black holes in
three and four dimensional (A)dS spacetime. Especially, a new dimensionless,
charges-independence and like relation is presented. This
relation does not depend on the mass, electric charge, angular momentum and
cosmological constant, as it is always a constant. These relations lead us to
get some interesting thermodynamic bound of entropy and temperature, including
the Penrose inequality which is the first geometrical inequality of black
holes. Besides, based on these new relations, one can obtain the first law of
thermodynamics and Smarr relation for all horizons of black hole.Comment: 12 pages, no figures, title changed, references adde
Vacuum ultraviolet photoabsorption spectra of nitrile ices for their identification on Pluto
Icy bodies, such as Pluto, are known to harbor simple and complex molecules. The recent New Horizons flyby of Pluto has revealed a complex surface composed of bright and dark ice surfaces, indicating a rich chemistry based on nitrogen (N2), methane (CH4), and carbon monoxide (CO). Nitrile (CN) containing molecules such as acetonitrile (CH3CN), propionitrile (CH3CH2CN), butyronitrile (CH3CH2CH2CN), and isobutyronitrile ((CH3)2CHCN) are some of the nitrile molecules that are known to be synthesized by radiative processing of such simple ices. Through the provision of a spectral atlas for such compounds we propose that such nitriles may be identified from the ALICE payload on board New Horizons</i
Non-minimal Wu-Yang monopole
We discuss new exact spherically symmetric static solutions to non-minimally
extended Einstein-Yang-Mills equations. The obtained solution to the Yang-Mills
subsystem is interpreted as a non-minimal Wu-Yang monopole solution. We focus
on the analysis of two classes of the exact solutions to the gravitational
field equations. Solutions of the first class belong to the
Reissner-Nordstr{\"o}m type, i.e., they are characterized by horizons and by
the singularity at the point of origin. The solutions of the second class are
regular ones. The horizons and singularities of a new type, the non-minimal
ones, are indicated.Comment: 10 pages, no figures, typos correcte
Modelling Realized Covariances and Returns
This paper proposes new dynamic component models of returns and realized covariance (RCOV) matrices based on time-varying Wishart distributions. Bayesian estimation and model comparison is conducted with a range of multivariate GARCH models and existing RCOV models from the literature. The main method of model comparison consists of a term-structure of density forecasts of returns for multiple forecast horizons. The new joint return-RCOV models provide superior density forecasts for returns from forecast horizons of 1 day to 3 months ahead as well as improved point forecasts for realized covariances. Global minimum variance portfolio selection is improved for forecast horizons up to 3 weeks out.Wishart distribution, predictive likelihoods, density forecasts, MCMC
New Concepts in Particle Physics from Solution of an Old Problem
Recent ideas on modular localization in local quantum physics are used to
clarify the relation between on- and off-shell quantities in particle physics;
in particular the relation between on-shell crossing symmetry and off-shell
Einstein causality. Among the collateral results of this new nonperturbative
approach are profound relations between crossing symmetry of particle physics
and Hawking-Unruh like thermal aspects (KMS property, entropy attached to
horizons) of quantum matter behind causal horizons, aspects which hitherto were
exclusively related with Killing horizons in curved spacetime rather than with
localization aspects in Minkowski space particle physics. The scope of this
modular framework is amazingly wide and ranges from providing a conceptual
basis for the d=1+1 bootstrap-formfactor program for factorizable d=1+1 models
to a decomposition theory of QFT's in terms of a finite collection of unitarily
equivalent chiral conformal theories placed a specified relative position
within a common Hilbert space (in d=1+1 a holographic relation and in higher
dimensions more like a scanning). The new framework gives a spacetime
interpretation to the Zamolodchikov-Faddeev algebra and explains its thermal
aspects.Comment: In this form it will appear in JPA Math Gen, 47 pages tcilate
Bondi-Metzner-Sachs symmetry, holography on null-surfaces and area proportionality of "light-slice" entropy
It is shown that certain kinds of behavior, which hitherto were expected to
be characteristic for classical gravity and quantum field theory in curved
spacetime, as the infinite dimensional Bondi-Metzner-Sachs symmetry, holography
on event horizons and an area proportionality of entropy, have in fact an
unnoticed presence in Minkowski QFT. This casts new light on the fundamental
question whether the volume propotionality of heat bath entropy and the
(logarithmically corrected) dimensionless area law obeyed by
localization-induced thermal behavior are different geometric parametrizations
which share a common primordeal algebraic origin. Strong arguments are
presented that these two different thermal manifestations can be directly
related, this is in fact the main aim of this paper. It will be demonstrated
that QFT beyond the Lagrangian quantization setting receives crucial new
impulses from holography onto horizons. The present paper is part of a project
aimed at elucidating the enormous physical range of "modular localization". The
latter does not only extend from standard Hamitonian heat bath thermal states
to thermal aspects of causal- or event- horizons addressed in this paper. It
also includes the recent understanding of the crossing property of formfactors
whose intriguing similarity with thermal properties was, although sometimes
noticed, only sufficiently understood in the modular llocalization setting.Comment: 42 pages, changes, addition of new results and new references, in
