A predictive model of the export behaviour of small and medium sized firms: an applic.

Based on an extensive theoretical review, the aim of this paper is to carry out a closer examination of the differences between exporters according to their commitment to the international market. Once the main disparities are identified by means of a non-parametric test, a logistic analysis based upon data collected from small and medium sized manufacturing firms is conducted in order to construct a classificatory model.Export behaviour; Manufacturing; Small to medium-sized firms; Logistic regression; Ma

The asymmetric unit of the title compound, C14H14N2, contains two independent molecules with slightly different conformations; the dihedral angles formed by aromatic rings in the two molecules are 73.2 (1) and 75.0 (1)°. Intermolecular N—H⋯N hydrogen bonds link the molecules into chains extended in the [100] direction

Measuring denitrification and the N2_{2}O:(N2_{2}O + N2_{2}) emission ratio from terrestrial soils

Denitrification, a significant pathway of reactive N-loss from terrestrial soils, impacts on agricultural production and the environment. Net production and emission of the denitrification product nitrous oxide (N2_{2}O) is readily quantifiable, but measuring denitrification\u27s final product, dinitrogen (N2_{2}), against a high atmospheric background remains challenging. This review examines methods quantifying both N2_{2} and N2_{2}O emissions, based on inhibitors, helium/O2_{2} atmosphere exchange, and isotopes. These methods are evaluated regarding their capability to account for pathways of N2_{2} and N2_{2}O production and we suggest quality parameters for measuring denitrification from controlled environments to the field scale. Our appraisal shows that method combinations, together with real-time monitoring and soil-gas diffusivity modelling, have the potential to significantly improve our quantitative understanding for denitrification from upland soils. Requirements for instrumentation and experimental setups however highlight the need to develop more mobile and easily accessible field methods to constrain denitrification from terrestrial soils across scales

Adjacency labeling schemes and induced-universal graphs

We describe a way of assigning labels to the vertices of any undirected graph on up to nn vertices, each composed of n/2+O(1)n/2+O(1) bits, such that given the labels of two vertices, and no other information regarding the graph, it is possible to decide whether or not the vertices are adjacent in the graph. This is optimal, up to an additive constant, and constitutes the first improvement in almost 50 years of an n/2+O(logn)n/2+O(\log n) bound of Moon. As a consequence, we obtain an induced-universal graph for nn-vertex graphs containing only O(2n/2)O(2^{n/2}) vertices, which is optimal up to a multiplicative constant, solving an open problem of Vizing from 1968. We obtain similar tight results for directed graphs, tournaments and bipartite graphs

The relationship between organizational commitment and intention to leave: A model of.

The aim of this article is to provide empirical evidence on two questions belonging to the research agenda of organizational commitment research: the possible existence of several facets of continuance commitment, and of non-linear relationships between organizational commitment and various organizational behaviors and their predictors, such as turnover and intention to leave the organization. An empirical research through a survey with 241 respondents has been carried out, and hypotheses have been tested through hierarchic linear regression. The results obtained confirm the relationship between affective commitment and intention to leave found in previous research, and the existence of two distinct components of continuance commitment. There have not been found non-linear relationships between organizational commitment and the intention to leave the organization. One of the most important managerial implications of this research is that in order to reduce turnover, human resource managers should foster affective and continuance organizational commitment among the employees.Organizational commitment; affective commitment; continuance commitment; work attitud

    Regional Entrepreneurial Scorecard

    Get PDF
This paper examines the relationship between regional development and the creation of new companies from a micro perspective of institutional approach, focusing on the most relevant stakeholders involved in the process. The contribution of entrepreneurs to regional economic growth has been subject of special attention by the authorities, what is needed for a system of references to assess the adequacy of public programs for the promotion of entrepreneurial activity. Based on the concept of Balanced Scorecard, which provides a logical structure that relates and integrates and allows indicators reflect the interests of stakeholders in shaping the Balanced Scorecard, the authors propose a Regional Entrepreneurship Scorecard (RES), as a tool for monitoring policies and programmes aimed at promoting start-ups. This RES uses information from international GEM project, which offers a vision of reality enterprising in different countries and regions.Entrepreneurship, GEM, Balanced Scorecard, results measure.
