The minimum wage in the dominant firm model
"This paper examines the impact of minimum wage in a dominant firm model. It is shown that in a labor-intensive market, the introduction of a binding minimum wage creates an entry barrier in the short run and increases unemployment in the long run." Disappearance of the Abrikosov vortex above the deconfining phase transition in SU(2) lattice gauge theory
We calculate the solenoidal magnetic monopole current and electric flux
distributions at finite temperature in the presence of a static quark antiquark
pair. The simulation was performed using SU(2) lattice gauge theory in the
maximal Abelian gauge. We find that the monopole current and electric flux
distributions are quite different below and above the finite temperature
deconfining phase transition point and agree with predictions of the
Ginzburg-Landau effective theory.Comment: 12 pages, Revtex Latex, 6 figures - ps files will be sent upon

-- E N G L I S H V E R S I O N: This paper deals with the optimal organisation of the water supplying industry by having a close look on the basic characteristics of water as a economic good as well as the specific structure of production. After the formal description of the individual stages of production and the real organisation of the German water sector, different models for the sector organisation are briefly being considered. Subsequently, the determination of the optimal firm and industry structure is illustrated from the economic point of view. Finally, central economic concepts with respect to production analysis as well as industrial organisation are modelled for an empirical application to the water supplying industry. It is revealed that empirically based organisation models have not been considered in the course of the ongoing discussion on water sector liberalisation so far. The 'pool-model' seems to be a promising alternative with respect to the restructuring of the water supplying industry in rural areas.Water Supply Industry,Production Analysis,Industrial Organisation,Economic Modelling,Wasserversorgung,Produktionsanalyse,Industrielle Organisation,Modellierung
MONOPOL NAD ROBOM S PROSTORNIM ODRŽAVANJEM
This study addresses the effects of monopolistic firms\u27 location and guarantee time limit on pricing for
goods requiring high maintenance expenditure, such as elevators, televisions and computers. A spatial
maintenance model of two stages within a guaranteed time limit is outlined in this paper. Based on
this model, location, maintenance commitment and pricing are all characterized under a monopoly
situation. This paper outlines the optimal price and location for the monopolist. The effects of guarantee
time limit on price are discussed.
i kompjuteri. U ovom radu iznosimo model prostornog održavanja u dva stupnja unutar garantiranog
vremenskog ograničenja. Na osnovu ovog modela, lokacija, obveza održavanja i formiranje
cijena se sve određuju u situaciji monopola. Rad donosi optimalne cijene i lokacije za monopolistu.
We present an approximate solution around a global monopole resulting from a breaking of a global SO(3) symmetry in a five-dimensional space-time based on Lyra’s geometry in normal gauge, i.e., displacement vector φi = (0, 0, 0, 0, β0), where β0 is a constant. Acceleration due to the monopole has been evaluated by studying the geodesic equation. A comparison is made with the classical results.
