Achieving Secure and Efficient Cloud Search Services: Cross-Lingual Multi-Keyword Rank Search over Encrypted Cloud Data
Multi-user multi-keyword ranked search scheme in arbitrary language is a
novel multi-keyword rank searchable encryption (MRSE) framework based on
Paillier Cryptosystem with Threshold Decryption (PCTD). Compared to previous
MRSE schemes constructed based on the k-nearest neighbor searcha-ble encryption
(KNN-SE) algorithm, it can mitigate some draw-backs and achieve better
performance in terms of functionality and efficiency. Additionally, it does not
require a predefined keyword set and support keywords in arbitrary languages.
However, due to the pattern of exact matching of keywords in the new MRSE
scheme, multilingual search is limited to each language and cannot be searched
across languages. In this pa-per, we propose a cross-lingual multi-keyword rank
search (CLRSE) scheme which eliminates the barrier of languages and achieves
semantic extension with using the Open Multilingual Wordnet. Our CLRSE scheme
also realizes intelligent and per-sonalized search through flexible keyword and
language prefer-ence settings. We evaluate the performance of our scheme in
terms of security, functionality, precision and efficiency, via extensive
experiments
Middleware Technologies for Cloud of Things - a survey
The next wave of communication and applications rely on the new services
provided by Internet of Things which is becoming an important aspect in human
and machines future. The IoT services are a key solution for providing smart
environments in homes, buildings and cities. In the era of a massive number of
connected things and objects with a high grow rate, several challenges have
been raised such as management, aggregation and storage for big produced data.
In order to tackle some of these issues, cloud computing emerged to IoT as
Cloud of Things (CoT) which provides virtually unlimited cloud services to
enhance the large scale IoT platforms. There are several factors to be
considered in design and implementation of a CoT platform. One of the most
important and challenging problems is the heterogeneity of different objects.
This problem can be addressed by deploying suitable "Middleware". Middleware
sits between things and applications that make a reliable platform for
communication among things with different interfaces, operating systems, and
architectures. The main aim of this paper is to study the middleware
technologies for CoT. Toward this end, we first present the main features and
characteristics of middlewares. Next we study different architecture styles and
service domains. Then we presents several middlewares that are suitable for CoT
based platforms and lastly a list of current challenges and issues in design of
CoT based middlewares is discussed.Comment: http://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S2352864817301268,

A Hybrid Multi-user Cloud Access Control based Block Chain Framework for Privacy Preserving Distributed Databases
Most of the traditional medical applications are insecure and difficult to compute the data integrity with variable hash size. Traditional medical data security systems are insecure and it depend on static parameters for data security. Also, distributed based cloud storage systems are independent of integrity computational and data security due to unstructured data and computational memory. As the size of the data and its dimensions are increasing in the public and private cloud servers, it is difficult to provide the machine learning based privacy preserving in cloud computing environment. Block-chain technology plays a vital role for large cloud databases. Most of the conventional block-chain frameworks are based on the existing integrity and confidentiality models. Also, these models are based on the data size and file format. In this model, a novel integrity verification and encryption framework is designed and implemented in cloud environment. In order to overcome these problems in the cloud computing environment, a hybrid integrity and security-based block-chain framework is designed and implemented on the large distributed databases. In this framework,a novel decision tree classifier is used along with non-linear mathematical hash algorithm and advanced attribute-based encryption models are used to improve the privacy of multiple users on the large cloud datasets. Experimental results proved that the proposed advanced privacy preserving based block-chain technology has better efficiency than the traditional block-chain based privacy preserving systems on large distributed databases
Securing the Participation of Safety-Critical SCADA Systems in the Industrial Internet of Things
In the past, industrial control systems were ‘air gapped’ and
isolated from more conventional networks. They used
specialist protocols, such as Modbus, that are very different
from TCP/IP. Individual devices used proprietary operating
systems rather than the more familiar Linux or Windows.
However, things are changing. There is a move for greater
connectivity – for instance so that higher-level enterprise
management systems can exchange information that helps
optimise production processes. At the same time, industrial
systems have been influenced by concepts from the Internet
of Things; where the information derived from sensors and
actuators in domestic and industrial components can be
addressed through network interfaces. This paper identifies a
range of cyber security and safety concerns that arise from
these developments. The closing sections introduce potential
solutions and identify areas for future research
