    A Proposed Cryptography-Based Identity Management Scheme for Enhancing Enterprise Information Systems Security

    Enterprises are faced with the challenges of managing users’ identity across multiple systems and applications.User identity usually includes personal information such as names, contact information, and demographic data;legal information which is the information about legal relationship between the enterprise and the user; and logincredentials to managed systems for identification and authentication such as login ID and password, PKI certificate,tokens, biometrics, and so on. As a result of these challenges, enterprises contend with problems of datainconsistency, repetition of access to multiple systems, security exposure, unreliability of data, complexity insystems usage, and difficulty in managing large data. These problems are compounded as enterprises deploy moreIT infrastructures (systems and applications) and have more users (employees, customers, partners, contractors,vendors, and so on).Our research is aimed at addressing these challenges by building on existing identitymanagement technologies through the creation of a hybrid technology using Identity Management andCryptographic techniques.     CROSS-CONTEXTUAL USE OF INTEGRATED INFORMATION SYSTEMS

    The international industry of engineering products and services is characterized by high complexity and competition. Corporations that expand globally have experienced that managing interdependent activities and business processes across several countries requires an effective deployment of advanced information technology. Whereas the literature has described implementation of global information systems as a means to coordinate and control the business processes, empirical studies have shown that introducing a large-scale information systems involves several managerial challenges when organizations are geographically dispersed. This paper studies deployment of a global enterprise system to support evolvement of global business processes. On the basis of a qualitative case study of a multinational corporation implementing an enterprise system across several geographical locations, we identify counteracting forces in the process of global standardization of IS and business processes and discuss how the organization try to manage these forces and challenges therein. The findings suggest that global business processes develop through diverse processes of learning and negotiation between local practices of use and infusion of the global enterprise system

Comprehensive business frameworks are necessary to capture the entire complexity of such systems. These frameworks called enterprise architectures can provide the conceptual foundation necessary for building and managing the integral business system and all its components. The goal of this paper was to analyze the Architecture of Integrated Information Systems (ARIS) and the Zachman frameworks, to define the criteria for comparison and evaluation of these approaches, and determine their level of complement.     Inter-Organizational Information and Middleware System Projects: Success, Failure, Complexity, and Challenges

    Managing projects is firmly driven by its business goals. Simplistically, considering a project as success, or failure, depends on it meeting its objectives and requirements within its resources. While traditional projects are well constructed, Information Systems projects tend to be complex and ill-defined. These problems are exacerbated in contexts of Inter-Organizational Information (IOIS) and Middleware Systems (IOMS). Such Inter-Enterprise System projects are likely to face challenges related to the non-homogeneity of project goals across partners, complexity of relationships within and across organizations, geographical dispersion, legal differences across boundaries, etc. In this paper we explore various approaches identifying outcomes of IS projects: Rational, Narrative, Organizational, and Performative. Furthermore, we identify the complexity and particular challenges of IOIS and IOMS projects and how such approaches towards identifying project success and/or failure are applicable or inapplicable. We conclude with a call for more research to be conducted in this nascent but vital area

    Standardisation of enterprise architecture development for smart cities

    Managing the complexity of the Information and Communications Technology (ICT) services in smart cities raises a need to use enterprise architecture frameworks to solve the complexity issues. However, the majority of the existing enterprise architecture frameworks have been developed to address the concerns and issues of the stakeholders in their associated world. To address challenges including complexity, multi-stakeholders and the service oriented nature of smart cities, this paper presents an enterprise architecture framework that can be used as a way to manage enterprise architectures in smart cities. This framework focuses on establishing contextual requirements and definitions for smart city systems and services. In contrast to other approaches, in this paper we focus on two important layers, i.e., context layer and service layer, as well as their relationships. The framework is valuable in developing smart services. It also contributes to the understanding of smart city enterprise architectures

    Improving enterprise business processes with systems analysis and design methodologies and tools.

    Enterprises have to be organized in a business process oriented way. This is in order to be successful in a changing and challenging business environment including uncertainty and complexity in managing business and manufacturing processes. The main objective of this thesis is to implement comprehensive modelling methodologies and tools that capture all useful information included within the enterprise business processes. This has been achieved first through implementing the Systems Analysis and Design (SAD) methodologies and tools for integrating the business design processes. The implementation should recognize the enterprise organization view, data and information view, function view, and also product/service view. Such recognition is required in order to improve the reuse of business process models for the implementation of workflow management applications. The implemented design methodologies have been demonstrated through two case studies, including the modelling of business and automotive manufacturing processes. In Addition, the Architecture of the Integrated Information System (ARIS) has been presented in both implementations using ARIS tool set. The ARIS implementation has assisted in supporting analysis for potential changes, specifying requirements, and also supporting the modeled business processes systems level design and integration activities. Results of using the selected graphical design languages with the systematic explanations of modelling the business process functions and activities revealed the need for implementing comprehensive SAD methodologies. Also, the SAD methodologies have assisted with integrating the enterprise through modelling its business activities, technology, and human elements involved.     Concepts for Modeling Smart Cities

    The rapid increase and adoption of new Information Technologies (IT) in Smart Cities make the provision of public services more efficient. However, various municipalities and cities deal with challenges to transform and digitize city services. Smart Cities have a high degree of complexity where offered city services must respond to the concerns and goals of multiple stakeholders. These city services must also involve diverse data sources, multi-domain applications, and heterogeneous systems and technologies. Enterprise Architecture (EA) is an instrument to deal with complexity in both private and public organizations. The paper defines the concepts for modeling Smart Cities in ArchiMate, guided by a design-oriented research approach. Particularly, the focus of this paper is on the concepts for modeling city services and underlying information systems which are added to the EA metamodel. The metamodel is demonstrated in a real-world case and validated by Smart City domain experts. The findings suggest that these concepts are essential to achieve the Smart City strategy (e.g., city goals and objectives), as well as to meet the needs of different city stakeholders. Furthermore, an extension mechanism allows addressing the alignment of business and IT in complex environments such as Smart Cities, by adjusting EA metamodels and notations. This can help cities to design, visualize, and communicate architecture decisions when managing the transformation and digitalization of public services

Actualizing information and analytic provision of managing an enterprise has been carried out in developed flexible information system that is organized as internal network structure. Information and analytical provision of managing have been developed through internal and external parallels of impact, which interconnection coordinates theory, methodology and organization of information processes with actualization of its model.
