Lectotypification of Artemisia variabilis Ten. (Compositae)
The name Artemisia variabilis Ten. is here lectotypified. Observations and synonyms are given
Lectotypification of Halymenia rodrigueziana J.Feldmann [= Sebdenia rodrigueziana (J.Feldmann) Codomier ex Athanasiadis (Sebdeniaceae, Rhodophyta)].
Here we designate as a lectotype of Halymenia rodrigueziana J. Feldmann the sheet JF2328 held in the Herbarium of J. Feldmann, included in the Herbarium of the Cryptogam Laboratory of the Muséum National d"Histoire Naturelle de Paris (PC). Also we present the correct citation of this species and for Sebdenia rodrigueziana (J. Feldmann) Codomier ex Athanasiadis
Tipificació de dos noms Cavanillesians, Galium Fruticescens (Rubiaceae) i Scorzonera pumila (Compositae)
The Cavanillesian names Galium fruticescens and Scorzonera pumila, basionym of Launaea pumila, are lectotypified from original specimens preserved in the Cavanilles herbarium in the Royal Botanic Garden of Madrid (MA).Els noms cavanillesians Galium fruticescens i Scorzonera pumila, basiònim de Launaea pumila, són lectotipificats a partir d’espècimens que pertanyen al material original de l’autor conservat a l’herbari del Reial Jardí Botànic de Madrid (MA)
Taxonomic revision of the genus Alternanthera (Amaranthaceae) in Italy
A taxonomic revision of the genus Alternanthera (Amaranthaceae) in Italy is here presented. Field surveys were carried out during the period 2007–2013. Thirty-six herbaria (both European and American) were consulted as well as extensive literature was analyzed. Four taxa are recognized, all of them to be considered aliens native to South America. Information about nomenclature (accepted names, main synonyms, and types), morphology, chromosome number, alien status (at national and regional levels), occurrence in Italy (at regional and provincial scale), ecology (preferential habitat, phenology, and elevation), taxonomical notes, and Italian vernacular names were provided for each taxon. A diagnostic key was given. For the nomenclatural purposes the generic name Alternanthera and its type was discussed, and the names A. paronychioides and A. pungens were studied and typified (lecto- and neotype, respectively) on specimens preserved at PH and P
Lectotypification of the names of three moss species described by Hedwig
As a part of a study for the project “Flora Briofítica Ibérica” three names, Bartramia halleriana Hedw.,
Bartramia pomiformis Hedw. and Anictangium aquaticum Hedw. [≡ Cinclidotus aquaticus (Hedw.) Bruch &
Schimp.], described by Johannes Hedwig, are lectotypified
Lectotypification of Linnaean names in Tussilago (Asteraceae)
The typification of the names Tussilago alpina and T. petasites (Asteraceae) are discussed. Specimens
from the Burser Herbarium (UPS) are designated as lectotypes
An assessment of the genus Columbella Lamarck, 1799 (Gastropoda: Columbellidae) from eastern Atlantic
Three species of the neogastropod genus Columbella Lamarck, 1799 are recognised from the northeastern Atlantic and the Mediterranean. One is the common Mediterranean C. rustica (Linnaeus, 1758), with
paucispiral protoconch, extending its range in the Atlantic South to Senegal and North to Portugal. Columbella adansoni Menke, 1853, with multispiral protoconch is restricted to the Macaronesian archipelagoes. A third species, also with multispiral protoconch, from West Africa is recognised through molecular methods, and the name C. xiphitella Duclos, 1840 is employed by correcting the original erroneous locality (“Californie”) to Gabon. Except for protoconch features, no major morphological characters are available to separate the three species; however diagnostic species-level differences in specific positions in the cytochrome c oxidase I (COI) sequences are present between all three species
