StomateTutorâ„¢: An Introduction to Stomatal Control of Gas Exchange in Plants
This is a HyperCard implementation which includes Pascal programs. HyperCard, which requires at least 1 Megabyte of memory, must be supplied by the user. The system disk must include the Geneva 10 pt font. When using, open the HyperCard stack StomateTutor which coordinates the remaining files (StomateTutorl-3 and the two Pascal programs). When you run StomateTutor the first time with your file configuration, you must locate the Pore Width and Diffusion applications used in Modules 1 and 2, respectively
Development of a prototype multi-processing interactive software invocation system
The Interactive Software Invocation System (NASA-ISIS) was first transported to the M68000 microcomputer, and then rewritten in the programming language Path Pascal. Path Pascal is a significantly enhanced derivative of Pascal, allowing concurrent algorithms to be expressed using the simple and elegant concept of Path Expressions. The primary results of this contract was to verify the viability of Path Pascal as a system's development language. The NASA-ISIS implementation using Path Pascal is a prototype of a large, interactive system in Path Pascal. As such, it is an excellent demonstration of the feasibility of using Path Pascal to write even more extensive systems. It is hoped that future efforts will build upon this research and, ultimately, that a full Path Pascal/ISIS Operating System (PPIOS) might be developed

In recent years, increasing attention has been devoted to the underrepresentation, exclusion or outright discrimination experienced by women and members of other visible minority groups in academic philosophy. Much of this debate has focused on the state of contemporary Anglophone philosophy, which is dominated by the tradition of analytic philosophy. Moreover, there is growing interest in academia and society more generally for issues revolving around linguistic justice and linguistic discrimination (sometimes called ‘linguicism’ or ‘languagism’) (see e.g. Van Parijs 2011). Globalization and the increasing adoption of English as global linguistic vehicle or lingua franca push these issues at the forefront of much of the world’s attention. The convergence of these two trends suggests the appropriateness of an analysis of the condition of non-native speakers of English in analytic philosophy
The Hitchhiker's Guide to Nonlinear Filtering
Nonlinear filtering is the problem of online estimation of a dynamic hidden
variable from incoming data and has vast applications in different fields,
ranging from engineering, machine learning, economic science and natural
sciences. We start our review of the theory on nonlinear filtering from the
simplest `filtering' task we can think of, namely static Bayesian inference.
From there we continue our journey through discrete-time models, which is
usually encountered in machine learning, and generalize to and further
emphasize continuous-time filtering theory. The idea of changing the
probability measure connects and elucidates several aspects of the theory, such
as the parallels between the discrete- and continuous-time problems and between
different observation models. Furthermore, it gives insight into the
construction of particle filtering algorithms. This tutorial is targeted at
scientists and engineers and should serve as an introduction to the main ideas
of nonlinear filtering, and as a segway to more advanced and specialized
