A Concept of Innovation Hub for Smart Applications, Enabling Pro-active Approach to Urban Policy and Planning Processes

In recent years, the question of how to develop smart applications in environments where solutions already exist has become a challenge for many trends of technological transformation e.g. in industry, transport or smart cities. The latter trend is additionally very sensitive because of the social dimension of the impact of transformation, where the human being should be in the centre of attention. In this paper we present the concept of the Innovation Hub in Poznań, which is a framework for digital transformation focused on integration and development towards proactive digital city system. Starting from the pillars of the digital transformation, i.e. the City Development Strategy and existing well-functioning smart city components, we justify the evolutionary model of transformation by creating favorable conditions for the implementation of Proof of Concept projects with the active participation of residents. In addition, we point out examples of projects that were linked to decision-making processes

Celem niniejszego artykułu jest poglądowe przedstawienie wyników prac PCSS, jakie udało się osiągnąć w zakresie agregacji i integracji danych z rozproszonych systemów informacji naukowej po 2.5 roku realizacji projektu SYNAT. Następny rozdział niniejszego tekstu omawia nowe podejście do agregacji danych z wielu źródeł wypracowane w ramach etapu A9 projektu SYNAT. Rozdział trzeci przedstawia podejście do reprezentacji wiedzy przy pomocy ontologii FRBRoo, a rozdział czwarty prezentuje wybrane aspekty zaimplementowanego procesu integracji i wzbogacania danych. Prototypowy interfejs użytkownika do powstałej w ten sposób bazy wiedzy opisano w rozdziale piątym. Realizacja potrzeb użytkowników bibliotek cyfrowych na przykładzie systemu dLibra 6

This article describes the most important new features and capabilities of the version 6 of dLibra system in the scope of expectations of digital library users. Users' expectations were identified on the basis of a survey published in the FBC portal in 2016. Changes in the dLibra software have been described in terms of usability, performance and reliability. They include mechanisms related to access to digital content, metadata of stored resources and searching for information. Selected possibilities of individual adjustment of the dLibra system were also presented.W niniejszym artykule opisano najważniejsze nowe funkcje i możliwości systemu dLibra w wersji 6 w kontekście oczekiwań użytkowników bibliotek cyfrowych. Oczekiwania użytkowników zostały zi­dentyfikowane na podstawie ankiety zamieszczonej na portalu FBC w 2016 r. Zmiany w oprogramowa­niu dLibra zostały opisane w kontekście użyteczności, wydajności oraz niezawodności. Obejmują swym za­kresem mechanizmy związane z dostępem do treści cyfrowych, metadanymi przechowywanych zasobów oraz wyszukiwaniem informacji. Intelligent tools for building a scientific information platform: advanced architectures and solutions

This book is a selection of results obtained within two years of research per- formed under SYNAT - a nation-wide scientific project aiming at creating an infrastructure for scientific content storage and sharing for academia, education and open knowledge society in Poland. The selection refers to the research in artificial intelligence, knowledge discovery and data mining, information retrieval and natural language processing, addressing the problems of implementing intelligent tools for building a scientific information platform.This book is a continuation and extension of the ideas presented in “Intelligent Tools for Building a Scientific Information Platform” published as volume 390 in the same series in 2012. It is based on the SYNAT 2012 Workshop held in Warsaw. The papers included in this volume present an overview and insight into information retrieval, repository systems, text processing, ontology-based systems, text mining, multimedia data processing and advanced software engineering.
