    Get PDF
This study investigated the crucial factors for measuring the success of the information system used in the e-learning process, considering the transformations in the work environment. This study was motivated by the changes caused by COVID-19 witnessed after the shift to fully online learning environments supported by e-learning systems, i.e., learning emphasized with information systems. Empirical research was conducted on a sample comprising teaching staff from two European universities: the University of Novi Sad, Faculty of Technical Sciences in Serbia and the Polytechnic Institute of Castelo Branco in Portugal. By synthesizing knowledge from review of the prior literature, supported by the findings of this study, the authors propose an Extended Information System Success Measurement Model—EISSMM. EISSMM underlines the importance of workforce agility, which includes the factors of proactivity, adaptability, and resistance to change, in the information system performance measurement model. The results of our research provide more extensive evidence and findings for scholars and practitioners that could support measuring information system success primarily in e-learning and other various contextual settings, highlighting the importance of people’s responses to work environment changes.info:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersio

    Measuring Process Modelling Success

    Get PDF
Process-modelling has seen widespread acceptance, par ticularly on large IT-enabled Business Process Reengineering projects. It is applied, as a process design and management technique, across all life-cycle phases of a system. While there has been much research on aspects of process-modelling, little attention has focused on post-hoc evaluation of process-modelling success. This paper addresses this gap, and presents a process-modelling success measurement (PMS) framework, which includes the dimensions: process-model quality; model use; user satisfaction; and process modelling impact. Measurement items for each dimension are also suggested

The large of complaints against population administration is still the main concern of local governments. The Department of Population and Civil Registration of Pasuruan Regency launched an innovation in population administration, namely the Electronic Direct Population Administration Service (E-PAK LADI) system. This innovation was launched as an effort to bring services closer at the village level. However, in implementation there are still problems related to inappropriate service times, the minimum number of operators and systems that are still experiencing errors. Therefore, this study aims to find out and describe in depth the effectiveness of the LADI E-PAK system in Cangkringmalang Village, Beji District, Pasuruan Regency. The type of research used is descriptive research with a qualitative approach. The focus of research using information system success indicators through the journal "Information Systems Success Measurement Foundations and Trends in Information Systems" (2016) by William H. Delone and Ephraim R. McLean includes system quality, information quality, IT organizational service quality, use , user satisfaction and net benefits. Meanwhile, data collection techniques were carried out through observation, interviews, documentation and literature study. The results of research on system quality indicators show that E-PAK LADI has fulfilled the indicator criteria even though it sometimes experiences errors. Information quality indicators, IT organization service quality and user satisfaction show that they have met the criteria well. Meanwhile, usage indicators cannot be used to assess the success of the system. Net benefits, E-PAK LADI has increased productivity and created efficiency. IT in construction: aligning IT and business strategies

    Get PDF
The extent to which information technology (IT) infrastructures and strategies are aligned with business processes and strategies varies widely along firms. The objective of this paper is to explain the success or failure of IT in construction firms by focusing on the alignment (or lack of it) between business strategy, IT strategy, organizational infrastructure, and IT infrastructure. It is hypothesized that the ‘fit’ among these elements, the domains of the Strategic Alignment Model, is positively related to the Business Value of IT in Construction. The IT Business Value is evaluated in terms of efficiency, effectiveness and business performance. By applying the Strategic Alignment Model to the Dutch construction industry, it is shown that the inadequate alignment between these domains is a major reason for the modest added business value from IT investments in this industry. The first lack of alignment is the technology shortfall: hence IT contributes in an inadequate way to strategic processes of construction firms. The second lack of alignment is the strategy-shortfall: hence the firm strategy impedes the implementation of IT that could generate a high business value

Contemporary concepts such as Business Pro cess Re-engineering and Process Innovation emphasize the importance of process-oriented management concepts as a businesses paradigm. Large scaled multimillion-dollar implementations of Enterpri se Systems explicitly and implicitly state the importance of process modeling and its contribution to the success of these project. While there has been much research and publications on alterna tive process modeling techniques and tools, little attention has focused on post-hoc evaluation of actual process modeling activities or on deriving comprehensive guidelines on ‘how-to’ conduct process modeling effectively. This study aims at addressing this gap. A comprehensive a priori pro cess modeling success model has been derived and this paper reports on the results obtained from a detailed case study at a leading Australian logistics service provider, which was conducted with the aim of testing and re-specifying the model

Towards a better understanding of the e-health user: comparing USE IT and Requirements study for an Electronic Patient Record.

This paper compares a traditional requirements study with 22 interviews for the design of an electronic patient record (EPR) and a USE IT analysis with 17 interviews trying to understand the end- user of an EPR. Developing, implementing and using information technology in organizations is a complex social activity. It is often characterized by ill-defined problems or vague goals, conflicts and disruptions that result from organizational change. Successfully implementing information systems in healthcare organizations appears to be a difficult task. Information Technology is regarded as an enabler of change in healthcare organizations but (information) technology adoption decisions in healthcare are complex, because of the uncertainty of benefits and the rate of change of technology. (Job) Relevance is recognized as an important determinant for IS success but still does not find its way into a systems design process

The relevance of telehealth across the digital divided the transfer of knowledge over distance

    Get PDF
This paper explores the concept of Relevance as an explanatory factor to the diffusion of ITuse, or, in this paper particularly, the use of Telehealth. Relevance is the net value of performance expectancy and effort expectancy and contains both micro-relevance (i.e. here-and-now) and macro-relevance (i.e. actual goals) Following the case-study approach, two Telehealth situations were studied in Rwanda and The Netherlands. In the comparison, two more existing studies in Canada and Tanzania were included. The conclusion is that Relevance is the explanatory factor, whereas particularly micro-relevance is crucial. Without the micro-relevant occasions that initiate use, there will be no use on longer term In the cases studied the micro-relevance of knowledge-transfer was crucial. Furthermore distance determined Telehealth relevance. Practical conclusions to cases were drawn

An Integrative Model of Information Systems Use in Mandatory Environments

The volitional nature of IS use in organizations is shifting to contexts of mandatory adoption. This has prompted a need for IS researchers to reassess current predictive models of IS use. In this paper we present our work on a theoretical framework for predicting IS use in a mandatory adoption environment. Issues specific to mandatory environments are raised and discussed, and a new model for predicting end-user behavior is proposed. Methodological considerations for testing the model are discussed
