Indicadores bibliométricos de actividad de la revista MVZ Córdoba 1994-2008

Objetivo. Analizar el comportamiento bibliométrico de la revista MVZ-Córdoba y visualizar indicadores que permitan la toma de decisiones enfocadas a mejorar la calidad de la publicación. Materiales y métodos. Se emplearon los volúmenes del 1 al 13 compuestos por 49.2% de artículos originales, 17.4% de resúmenes de trabajos de grado, 17.7% de otros documentos, 8.9% de artículos de revisión, 4.3% de casos clínicos, 1.3% de artículos de opinión, 1.0% de comunicaciones breves, 0.3% de artículos institucionales, para un total de 305 manuscritos, 915 autores y 4881 referencias. Se determinaron los índices de colaboración (IC), productividad (IP), Price (IO), obsolescencia, aislamiento (IA), autocitación (SCR); también se evaluó la distribución porcentual y tipo de artículos, el número de autores y el promedio de citas. Resultados. Los índices generales IC, IP, IO, IA y SCR fueron 3.0, 2.18, 30.3, 7.67 y 8.9 % respectivamente; el análisis de Burton-Kebler reportó un envejecimiento anual que osciló entre 90.5 y 95.1%, lo que significa una pérdida de actualidad entre 4.93 y 9.52%. Conclusiones. La revista ha mostrado una calidad ascendente lo que se corrobora con la indización internacional. Para mantener y aumentar la calidad de la revista se debe reglamentar y verificar la actualidad de las referencias, controlar el SCR, el IA, aumentar el índice de Price, la vida media, realizar mediciones bibliométricas con mayor periodicidad, así como establecer la vigilancia sobre los índices bibliométricos que se generen de las indizaciones de la revista MVZ Córdoba

Análisis bibliométrico de la Revista Colombiana de Ciencia Animal – RECIA 2009-2018. Indicadores de producción

Objective. Perform a bibliometric analysis of the scientific production published in the Colombian Journal of Animal Science 2009-2018. Materials and methods. A descriptive-retrospective bibliometric study was carried out including the articles published in the last 10 years of the journal. Bibliometric indicators were selected as chronological distribution, scientific production, growth index, thematic categorization, author productivity, co-authorship and institutional cooperation. The scientometric indicators were calculated using the Harzing's Publish or Perish 6 software, based on the Google Scholar. Results. 379 scientific articles were evaluated and an average of 16.48 articles / volume was published. The weighted productivity was 0.39 articles / author; the H-index was 13; the g-index was 18; the normalized hi was 8 and the annual h1 was 0.89. There was an increase in international contributions with predominance of original articles. Conclusions. Publishing a greater number of articles in English would be an opportunity to improve the visibility of the journal. The specific indicators of the journal were shown taking into account their visibility and productivity offered by the Publish or Perish program.Objetivo. Realizar un análisis bibliométrico de la producción científica publicada en la Revista Colombiana de Ciencia Animal 2009-2018. Materiales y métodos. Se realizó un estudio bibliométrico descriptivo-retrospectivo incluyendo los artículos publicados en los últimos 10 años de la revista. Se seleccionaron indicadores bibliométricos como distribución cronológica, producción científica, índice de crecimiento, categorización temática, productividad de autores, coautoría y cooperación institucional. Se calcularon los indicadores cienciométricos mediante el software Harzing's Publish or Perish 6, tomando como base de datos el Google Académico. Resultados. Fueron evaluados 379 artículos científicos y  se publicó un promedio de 16.48 artículos/volumen. La productividad ponderada fue de 0.39 artículos/autor; el H-index fue 13; el g-index fue de 18; el hi normalizado fue de 8 y el h1 anual fue de 0.89. Se evidenció un incremento en las contribuciones internacionales con  predominio de los artículos originales. Conclusiones. Publicar un mayor número de  artículos en inglés constituiría una oportunidad de mejorar la visibilidad de la revista. Se mostraron los indicadores específicos de la revista teniendo en cuenta su visibilidad y productividad ofrecidos por el programa Publish or Perish

A Bibliometric Analysis of Articles Published in the Journal of Veterinary Internal Medicine from 1998 to 2013

Several bibliometric studies of the human health sciences literature have been published, but there have been few attempts to quantify the research published in the veterinary medical literature. The purpose of this bibliometric analysis was to detect patterns in articles published in the Journal of Veterinary Internal Medicine over a 15-year period, and thereby provide an assessment of the research available to clinicians in the specialty of veterinary internal medicine. Articles from four select years over the period of study were classified according to authorship, species investigated, purpose of study and study design. The results of this study provide a base for future bibliometric analysis of the veterinary literature and an appraisal of the articles published in the Journal of Veterinary Internal Medicine for the editors of that journal and those with an interest in veterinary internal medicine.Master of Science in Library Scienc
