DNA and Plaintext Dependent Chaotic Visual Selective Image Encryption
Visual selective image encryption can both improve the efficiency of the image encryption algorithm and reduce the frequency and severity of attacks against data. In this article, a new form of encryption is proposed based on keys derived from Deoxyribonucleic Acid (DNA) and plaintext image. The proposed scheme results in chaotic visual selective encryption of image data. In order to make and ensure that this new scheme is robust and secure against various kinds of attacks, the initial conditions of the chaotic maps utilized are generated from a random DNA sequence as well as plaintext image via an SHA-512 hash function. To increase the key space, three different single dimension chaotic maps are used. In the proposed scheme, these maps introduce diffusion in a plain image by selecting a block that have greater correlation and then it is bitwise XORed with the random matrix. The other two chaotic maps break the correlation among adjacent pixels via confusion (row and column shuffling). Once the ciphertext image has been divided into the respective units of Most Significant Bits (MSBs) and Least Significant Bit (LSBs), the host image is passed through lifting wavelet transformation, which replaces the low-frequency blocks of the host image (i.e., HL and HH) with the aforementioned MSBs and LSBs of ciphertext. This produces a final visual selective encrypted image and all security measures proves the robustness of the proposed scheme
Image Encryption Based on Diffusion and Multiple Chaotic Maps
In the recent world, security is a prime important issue, and encryption is
one of the best alternative way to ensure security. More over, there are many
image encryption schemes have been proposed, each one of them has its own
strength and weakness. This paper presents a new algorithm for the image
encryption/decryption scheme. This paper is devoted to provide a secured image
encryption technique using multiple chaotic based circular mapping. In this
paper, first, a pair of sub keys is given by using chaotic logistic maps.
Second, the image is encrypted using logistic map sub key and in its
transformation leads to diffusion process. Third, sub keys are generated by
four different chaotic maps. Based on the initial conditions, each map may
produce various random numbers from various orbits of the maps. Among those
random numbers, a particular number and from a particular orbit are selected as
a key for the encryption algorithm. Based on the key, a binary sequence is
generated to control the encryption algorithm. The input image of 2-D is
transformed into a 1- D array by using two different scanning pattern (raster
and Zigzag) and then divided into various sub blocks. Then the position
permutation and value permutation is applied to each binary matrix based on
multiple chaos maps. Finally the receiver uses the same sub keys to decrypt the
encrypted images. The salient features of the proposed image encryption method
are loss-less, good peak signal-to-noise ratio (PSNR), Symmetric key
encryption, less cross correlation, very large number of secret keys, and
key-dependent pixel value replacement.Comment: 14 pages,9 figures and 5 tables;

Applications of tripled chaotic maps in cryptography
Security of information has become a major issue during the last decades. New
algorithms based on chaotic maps were suggested for protection of different
types of multimedia data, especially digital images and videos in this period.
However, many of them fundamentally were flawed by a lack of robustness and
security. For getting higher security and higher complexity, in the current
paper, we introduce a new kind of symmetric key block cipher algorithm that is
based on \emph{tripled chaotic maps}. In this algorithm, the utilization of two
coupling parameters, as well as the increased complexity of the cryptosystem,
make a contribution to the development of cryptosystem with higher security. In
order to increase the security of the proposed algorithm, the size of key space
and the computational complexity of the coupling parameters should be increased
as well. Both the theoretical and experimental results state that the proposed
algorithm has many capabilities such as acceptable speed and complexity in the
algorithm due to the existence of two coupling parameter and high security.
Note that the ciphertext has a flat distribution and has the same size as the
plaintext. Therefore, it is suitable for practical use in secure
communications.Comment: 21 pages, 10 figure
