Development of 3D MRI-Based Anatomically Realistic Models of Breast Tissues and Tumours for Microwave Imaging Diagnosis
Breast cancer diagnosis using radar-based medical MicroWave Imaging (MWI) has been studied in recent years. Realistic numerical and physical models of the breast are needed for simulation and experimental testing of MWI prototypes. We aim to provide the scientific community with an online repository of multiple accurate realistic breast tissue models derived from Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), including benign and malignant tumours. Such models are suitable for 3D printing, leveraging experimental MWI testing. We propose a pre-processing pipeline, which includes image registration, bias field correction, data normalisation, background subtraction, and median filtering. We segmented the fat tissue with the region growing algorithm in fat-weighted Dixon images. Skin, fibroglandular tissue, and the chest wall boundary were segmented from water-weighted Dixon images. Then, we applied a 3D region growing and Hoshen-Kopelman algorithms for tumour segmentation. The developed semi-automatic segmentation procedure is suitable to segment tissues with a varying level of heterogeneity regarding voxel intensity. Two accurate breast models with benign and malignant tumours, with dielectric properties at 3, 6, and 9 GHz frequencies have been made available to the research community. These are suitable for microwave diagnosis, i.e., imaging and classification, and can be easily adapted to other imaging modalities.info:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersio
WiNet: Wavelet-based Incremental Learning for Efficient Medical Image Registration
Deep image registration has demonstrated exceptional accuracy and fast inference. Recent advances have adopted either multiple cascades or pyramid architectures to estimate dense deformation fields in a coarse-to-fine manner. However, due to the cascaded nature and repeated composition/warping operations on feature maps, these methods negatively increase memory usage during training and testing. Moreover, such approaches lack explicit constraints on the learning process of small deformations at different scales, thus lacking explainability. In this study, we introduce a model-driven WiNet that incrementally estimates scale-wise wavelet coefficients for the displacement/velocity field across various scales, utilizing the wavelet coefficients derived from the original input image pair. By exploiting the properties of the wavelet transform, these estimated coefficients facilitate the seamless reconstruction of a full-resolution displacement/velocity field via our devised inverse discrete wavelet transform (IDWT) layer. This approach avoids the complexities of cascading networks or composition operations, making our WiNet an explainable and efficient competitor with other coarse-to-fine methods. Extensive experimental results from two 3D datasets show that our WiNet is accurate and GPU efficient. The code is available at https://github.com/x-xc/WiNet .Accepted by MICCAI 202
Acute Angle Repositioning in Mobile C-Arm Using Image Processing and Deep Learning
During surgery, medical practitioners rely on the mobile C-Arm medical x-ray system (C-Arm) and its fluoroscopic functions to not only perform the surgery but also validate the outcome. Currently, technicians reposition the C-Arm arbitrarily through estimation and guesswork. In cases when the positioning and repositioning of the C-Arm are critical for surgical assessment, uncertainties in the angular position of the C-Arm components hinder surgical performance. This thesis proposes an integrated approach to automatically reposition C-Arms during critically acute movements in orthopedic surgery. Robot vision and control with deep learning are used to determine the necessary angles of rotation for desired C-Arm repositioning. More specifically, a convolutional neural network is trained to detect and classify internal bodily structures. Image generation using the fast Fourier transform and Monte Carlo simulation is included to improve the robustness of the training progression of the neural network. Matching control points between a reference x-ray image and a test x-ray image allows for the determination of the projective transformation relating the images. From the projective transformation matrix, the tilt and orbital angles of rotation of the C-Arm are calculated. Key results indicate that the proposed method is successful in repositioning mobile C-Arms to a desired position within 8.9% error for the tilt and 3.5% error for the orbit. As a result, the guesswork entailed in fine C-Arm repositioning is replaced by a better, more refined method. Ultimately, confidence in C-Arm positioning and repositioning is reinforced, and surgical performance with the C-Arm is improved

The emotional bond between humans and cats was caused by the phenomenon of "Petriarchy", which led to a group of cat lovers, or a group of consumers who are increasingly fond of cats Until now, we see many types of businesses using cat designs, both real and cartoon cats, in order to market products, advertising campaigns, and various marketing strategies. This research is a study of factors that influence the purchase intention of cat-loving consumers towards products and services that use cats as a marketing tool called "Meow Marketing", which comes from the consumer behavior bond between animals and the theory of niche marketing From the survey of the relationship between demographic characteristics Cat liking and motivation cause purchase intentions with the cat lover market group and using a combination of methods It combines quantitative data from surveys with qualitative insights from in-depth interviews. The research is that gender, age, income, and lifestyle are important predictors of purchase intention towards cat-driven marketing. In addition, the physical and behavioral characteristics of cats in marketing as well as the underlying motivations of consumers also played an important role in driving purchasing decisions. This study contributes to understanding specific consumer groups. and provides practical implications for businesses looking to capitalize on the emotional connection between humans and their feline friends through strategic marketing strategies tailored to the cat-loving demographic. MASTER OF BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION (M.B.A.)
