    Extremal Problems in Bergman Spaces and an Extension of Ryabykh's Theorem

    We study linear extremal problems in the Bergman space ApA^p of the unit disc for pp an even integer. Given a functional on the dual space of ApA^p with representing kernel k∈Aqk \in A^q, where 1/p+1/q=11/p + 1/q = 1, we show that if the Taylor coefficients of kk are sufficiently small, then the extremal function F∈H∞F \in H^{\infty}. We also show that if q≀q1<∞q \le q_1 < \infty, then F∈H(p−1)q1F \in H^{(p-1)q_1} if and only if k∈Hq1k \in H^{q_1}.     I love music. All genres of music. I love the stories that come through in music. I love the songs that create that personal experience and drive me to think or feel more deeply. Five for Fighting just came out with that type of song. It’s called “What If”. There is a line in the song that goes What if I had your heart, what if you wore my scars. What if you were me? What if I were you? What if your life was my life? What if I was you? It resonates with me personally and with our mission here at SCCAP – we believe that everyone has a story, a profound story and a path that led them to the place where they are. But what really struck me in this song was the concept of seeing ourselves in someone else’s life

    The impact of climate-induced distributional changes on the validity of biological water quality metrics

    We present data on the distributional changes within an order of macroinvertebrates used in biological water quality monitoring. The British Odonata (dragonflies and damselflies) have been shown to be expanding their range northwards and this could potentially affect the use of water quality metrics. The results show that the families of Odonata that are used in monitoring are shifting their ranges poleward and that species richness is increasing through time at most UK latitudes. These past distributional shifts have had negligible effects on water quality indicators. However, variation in Odonata species richness (particularly in species-poor regions) has a significant effect on water quality metrics. We conclude with a brief review of current and predicted responses of aquatic macroinvertebrates to environmental warming and maintain that caution is warranted in the use of such dynamic biological indicators

    Actuellement Ă©tudiante Ă  la HEP-BEJUNE et spĂ©cialisĂ©e dans le cycle 1, j’ai dĂ©cidĂ© d’orienter ma recherche autour de l’enseignement-apprentissage de la lecture-Ă©criture en 3-4H. Je trouve cet enseignement trĂšs important dans la vie d’un enfant car la lecture lui sera indispensable pour continuer sa scolaritĂ© mais aussi tout au long de sa vie. L’étude menĂ©e a pour but de comprendre ce que les enseignants jurassiens mettent en place pour enseigner la lecture-Ă©criture en 3-4H. Les objectifs de mon travail sont de chercher quelles mĂ©thodes et quels manuels utilisent les enseignants et pourquoi ont-ils fait ces choix. J’aimerais aussi chercher les diffĂ©rents types de lecteurs que l’on peut trouver dans une classe. Pour terminer, je vais analyser les activitĂ©s mises en place par les enseignants et essayer de les comparer avec les objectifs du PER. Pour recueillir mes donnĂ©es, je me suis entretenue avec trois enseignantes du canton du Jura qui enseignent en 3-4H

    Wings of Coenagrion puella vary in shape at the northern range margin (Odonata: Coenagrionidae)

    A previous study has shown that wing size in Coenagrion puella varied considerably along a latitudinal gradient in the UK. Using landmark data from wing images, patterns of shape variation were also determined along the same transect by geometric morphometric analysis of wing shape. Wing shape was uniform at all sites other than those closest to the range margin, which differed significantly. The potential mechanisms that might have generated such between-population variation are discussed
