Proposing a hybrid approach for emotion classification using audio and video data
Emotion recognition has been a research topic in the field of Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) during recent years. Computers have become an inseparable part of human life. Users need human-like interaction to better communicate with computers. Many researchers have
become interested in emotion recognition and classification using different sources. A hybrid
approach of audio and text has been recently introduced. All such approaches have been done to raise the accuracy and appropriateness of emotion classification. In this study, a hybrid approach of audio and video has been applied for emotion recognition. The innovation of this
approach is selecting the characteristics of audio and video and their features as a unique specification for classification. In this research, the SVM method has been used for classifying the data in the SAVEE database. The experimental results show the maximum classification
accuracy for audio data is 91.63% while by applying the hybrid approach the accuracy achieved is 99.26%
Machine learning approach for detection of nonTor traffic
Intrusion detection has attracted a considerable interest from researchers and industry. After many years of research the community still faces the problem of building reliable and efficient intrusion detection systems (IDS) capable of handling large quantities of data with changing patterns in real time situations. The Tor network is popular in providing privacy and security to end user by anonymizing the identity of internet users connecting through a series of tunnels and nodes. This work identifies two problems; classification of Tor traffic and nonTor traffic to expose the activities within Tor traffic that minimizes the protection of users in using the UNB-CIC Tor Network Traffic dataset and classification of the Tor traffic flow in the network. This paper proposes a hybrid classifier; Artificial Neural Network in conjunction with Correlation feature selection algorithm for dimensionality reduction and improved classification performance. The reliability and efficiency of the propose hybrid classifier is compared with Support Vector Machine and naïve Bayes classifiers in detecting nonTor traffic in UNB-CIC Tor Network Traffic dataset. Experimental results show the hybrid classifier, ANN-CFS proved a better classifier in detecting nonTor traffic and classifying the Tor traffic flow in UNB-CIC Tor Network Traffic dataset
Multimodal Subspace Support Vector Data Description
In this paper, we propose a novel method for projecting data from multiple
modalities to a new subspace optimized for one-class classification. The
proposed method iteratively transforms the data from the original feature space
of each modality to a new common feature space along with finding a joint
compact description of data coming from all the modalities. For data in each
modality, we define a separate transformation to map the data from the
corresponding feature space to the new optimized subspace by exploiting the
available information from the class of interest only. We also propose
different regularization strategies for the proposed method and provide both
linear and non-linear formulations. The proposed Multimodal Subspace Support
Vector Data Description outperforms all the competing methods using data from a
single modality or fusing data from all modalities in four out of five
datasets.Comment: 26 pages manuscript (6 tables, 2 figures), 24 pages supplementary
