Editorial
The first TCL issue of the new year is now under my belt. As the new Design Editor, the January 2000 TCL was a labor of love. It was also one of trial and error. I learned how to logically arrange the pages and articles within the issue. I experimented with various graphical changes but tried to keep a recognizable style in the grand TLC tradition

This issue brief describes Bolivia's economy in the first year of Evo Morales' presidency. There were improvements in most of the major economic indicators, as well as some new initiatives by the government to fulfill its promises to the country's impoverished majority
Understanding quality from a user perspective
Patient articles in professional journals used to be seen
as an invasion of territory. Now patients are invited to
contribute. We need to share each others’ space if we are
to understand one another. So writes Mitzi Blennerhassett, one of the contributors.
This is the first in a series of special issues of Quality
in Primary Care that we plan to publish as a regular
feature. As well as this issue on the ‘Patient Perspectives
on Quality in Primary Care’ we are also planning
an issue on ‘Commissioning for Quality Improvement’
later this year and next year the ‘Development of
Nursing Practice and Scope’, ‘Professional Regulation’
and finally ‘Organisational and Educational Interventions
for Quality Improvement’

Editorial - Academic Practice - how is it changing?
This special issue grew out of a Government-funded initiative in the UK, the formation of a number of five-year Centres for Excellence in Teaching and Learning. One of these, focused on Preparation for Academic Practice, is directed at better understanding and supporting the development of doctoral students and contract research staff for academic careers . This Centre, located at the University of Oxford, held its first conference in April 2007, and this special issue consists of papers contributed by conference participants
From the Editor
[Excerpt] Well, this new venture of ours has made it to Issue no.3: our one-year anniversary. Overall I have been pleased, both with the work submitted by our authors and by the response from our readers. With this issue we will have published thirteen articles. The journal has not developed as I had initially hoped, more on that below, but it seems to be having an impact within the profession. The first two issues have had just under 3,000 page views each, and we have 76 followers. Not the 6,000-issue circulation of American Archivist, but quite respectable, especially for a new journal

Editor\u27s Note
It is once again that time of year when I have the distinct honor and pleasure of sharing a few comments related to the publication of the most recent volume of the Journal of the Indiana Academy of the Social Sciences. The current issue, Volume 18 (2015), represents the fifth and final year of my first term as senior editor in chief. I have been fortunate during this time period to have been able to work with a talented and dedicated staff of coeditors, referee-reviewers and, of course, authors. I am extremely pleased to report that the current volume presents another outstanding collection of high-quality cutting-edge research articles that reflect the rich diversity of social science disciplines, topics, and methods. Our current issue represents a balance between research dealing with national and local issues, and includes papers on international topics as well
Volume 1, Number 1: From the Editor
Colleagues, I am pleased that our team of authors, reviewers and editors have worked hard at getting this first issue of our journal into publication. It was just over a year ago that about 90 of us gathered at George Fox University in Newberg Oregon for the last CCTE conference. At our closing plenary session, there was a strong sense that we wanted to further the work that we have done together by building connections between conferences. This first issue of the ICCTE Journal is the result of a journey of exploration that began over ten years ago, and hopefully will allow Christians who are involved with teacher education and related fields to build their networks, share their insights, research findings and encouragement with one another
