Re-purposing fika: rest, recreation or regulation in the neoliberalized swedish university?

Fika is the Swedish practice of assembling for a coffee break at work or home. This paper investigates the material, social and temporal investments in fika in accelerated and accountable organizational cultures, and asks what purpose it serves in neoliberalised academic employment regimes today. Analysis of our thirteen interviews with administrators and academics in a Faculty of Education in a large research-intensive Swedish university suggests that there are multiple interpretations of fika. Traditionally, fika has been used as a site for team-building, democratization, and well-being at work, but might have been re-purposed and incorporated in neoliberal surveillance and normalization technologies in which one's corporate loyalty and interpersonal skills are made visible for assessment. We noted an affective and gendered economy with fika eliciting feelings of pleasure in the social and recreational aspects, but shame and anger at what was perceived as coercion to perform a particular type of sociable subjectivity

In an effort to realize the Pancasila student profile, it is necessary to form and strengthen character education for students. The Ministry of Education and Culture has adopted the Pancasila Student Profile as one of the Visions and Missions of the Ministry of Education and Culture The aim of this research is to describe the implementation, obstacles faced, and solutions implemented in implementing character education activities for Pancasila students in the dimensions of faith, devotion to God Almighty and noble character for students at SDN Kasreman Tulungagung. The type of research carried out was qualitative with principals, class teachers and students involved in project activities to strengthen the profile of Pancasila students. The results obtained in this research are that the implementation of character education for Pancasila students in the dimensions of faith and devotion to God Almighty is measured through religious morals, personal morals, morals towards humans, morals towards nature and morals towards the state implemented in the form of daily habits to develop character in students. Supporting factors are the school principal as policy maker and regulation of school activities, teachers and homeroom teachers as implementers and supervisors and students as targets. Promoting Big Book and Reading Corner to Support Gerakan Literasi Sekolah (GLS) in Primary School

This study aims to describe the implementation of literacy socialization and training to some of the primary school teachers to support the government action in response to the Indonesian students’ low reading habit, called Gerakan Literasi Sekolah (GLS). This program focused on the English language literacy through promoting suitable material in media, namely Big Book and encouraging the school to provide reading corner to accommodate the literacy source storage and comfortable area to enjoy literacy activity. This is considered crucial since the comfortable area and neat arrangement of book play significant role to attract the students’ motivation in reading, later it is expected that they share about what they have read by listening to others, communicating with others, and writing their idea about what they found.
