Let the dice play God
We define life as the amplification of quantum uncertainty up to macroscopic scales. A living being is any amplifier that achieves this goal. We argue that everything we know about life can be explained from this idea. We study a ladder mechanism to estimate the probability that the amplification occurs spontaneously in nature. The amplification mechanism is so sensitive to small variations of its own parameters that it acts as a bifurcation itself, i.e. it implies that the universe is either everywhere dead or alive wherever possible. Since the first option is excluded by the existence of life on earth, we infer that the universe hosts a huge number of inhabited planets (possibly one per star on average). We also investigate models of conscious and unconscious learning processes, as well as the structure of the brain and evolution. Finally, we address the problem of creating artificial life
Ultimate Questions of Life, the Universe, and Everything
An artistic research project, exhibition and catalogue. As part of the one year MA seminar ‘Photography as Artistic Research’ we asked after the cornerstones of what it means to be human today. These processual gestures of searching for different modes of being were brought together in an exhibition and an accompanying catalogue to provoke and reach out to further ultimate questions about our various medial and inter-medial gestures of researching life, the universe, and everything as a way of being-in-the-world.

The Universe, Life and Everything...Dialogues on our Changing Understanding of Reality
The way we understand the world we live in is changing. Our traditional understanding is being challenged by developments in physics, including quantum mechanics, and our inability to explain certain complex phenomena such as consciousness. In this book, scholars from a variety of backgrounds discuss how our understanding of our world is expanding to include such phenomena

PERSPEKTIF FILSAFAT PENDIDIKAN ISLAM TENTANGALAM DAN LINGKUNGAN
"Alam" or universe is everything except Allah. According to the
philosophical view of Islamic education, from its very first creation,
it has been being in the equilibrium. The human being who is
part of the universe is also in accordance with its equibrium. God
has given the human being the gauide in the form of religion in
order that people in general can live in such good life that they
can conform with the universe equilibrium With religion, people
can do their double function, as bondsmen and caliph.
