Algorithms for advance bandwidth reservation in media production networks
Media production generally requires many geographically distributed actors (e.g., production houses, broadcasters, advertisers) to exchange huge amounts of raw video and audio data. Traditional distribution techniques, such as dedicated point-to-point optical links, are highly inefficient in terms of installation time and cost. To improve efficiency, shared media production networks that connect all involved actors over a large geographical area, are currently being deployed. The traffic in such networks is often predictable, as the timing and bandwidth requirements of data transfers are generally known hours or even days in advance. As such, the use of advance bandwidth reservation (AR) can greatly increase resource utilization and cost efficiency. In this paper, we propose an Integer Linear Programming formulation of the bandwidth scheduling problem, which takes into account the specific characteristics of media production networks, is presented. Two novel optimization algorithms based on this model are thoroughly evaluated and compared by means of in-depth simulation results
Business Case and Technology Analysis for 5G Low Latency Applications
A large number of new consumer and industrial applications are likely to
change the classic operator's business models and provide a wide range of new
markets to enter. This article analyses the most relevant 5G use cases that
require ultra-low latency, from both technical and business perspectives. Low
latency services pose challenging requirements to the network, and to fulfill
them operators need to invest in costly changes in their network. In this
sense, it is not clear whether such investments are going to be amortized with
these new business models. In light of this, specific applications and
requirements are described and the potential market benefits for operators are
analysed. Conclusions show that operators have clear opportunities to add value
and position themselves strongly with the increasing number of services to be

์ญ.The digital transformation brought significant impacts on international trade. Access to digitalization and new technologies lowered barriers to entry in global markets, contributing to higher trade competitiveness. Digitalization has reshaped how trade is conducted by changing the nature of its transaction. Digital trade is now a salient feature in international trade, and the digital service sector shows prominent growth across the globe by fostering technological innovation and economic development. Countries with active participation in digital trade translate into having an international competitive advantage. The following paper aims to define what digital trade is and empirically analyze competitiveness in digital service sectors of 28 OECD member states from 2010 to 2020 using Balassas Revealed Comparative Advantage (RCA) index and Michael Porters diamond model to explain the surge in digital trade. To classify digital services within the commercial service sector, this paper utilizes EBPOS 2010 statistics to categorize digital trade into ICT-enabled services and other potentially ICT-enabled services. Looking at the empirical results, the paper shows a consistent RCA index in service sectors or goods commodities for certain countries while some countries go through unprecedented changes from having a comparative advantage in other service sectors to digital service sectors. Is Fragmentation a Threat to the Success of the Internet of Things?
The current revolution in collaborating distributed things is seen as the
first phase of IoT to develop various services. Such collaboration is
threatened by the fragmentation found in the industry nowadays as it brings
challenges stemming from the difficulty to integrate diverse technologies in
system. Diverse networking technologies induce interoperability issues, hence,
limiting the possibility of reusing the data to develop new services. Different
aspects of handling data collection must be available to provide
interoperability to the diverse objects interacting; however, such approaches
are challenged as they bring substantial performance impairments in settings

The Internet of Things: Multi-faceted Research Perspectives
Living beyond the hype, the Internet of things (IoT) continues to grow and has clearly emerged as a leading-edge topic in information systems. As the IoT moves beyond novel technologies and exploratory sandbox initiatives to ubiquitous technologies and full production, understanding the phenomenon surrounding IoT challenges and issues has become even more important. In this paper, we explore the critical issues and challenges currently facing IoT adoption and implementation in order to identify areas that require further study. A review of Smart Contract Blockchain Based on Multi-Criteria Analysis: Challenges and Motivations
A smart contract is a digital program of transaction protocol (rules of
contract) based on the consensus architecture of blockchain. Smart contracts
with Blockchain are modern technologies that have gained enormous attention in
scientific and practical applications. A smart contract is the central aspect
of a blockchain that facilitates blockchain as a platform outside the
cryptocurrency spectrum. The development of blockchain technology, with a focus
on smart contracts, has advanced significantly in recent years. However
research on the smart contract idea has weaknesses in the implementation
sectors based on a decentralized network that shares an identical state. This
paper extensively reviews smart contracts based on multi criteria analysis
challenges and motivations. Therefore, implementing blockchain in
multi-criteria research is required to increase the efficiency of interaction
between users via supporting information exchange with high trust. Implementing
blockchain in the multi-criteria analysis is necessary to increase the
efficiency of interaction between users via supporting information exchange and
with high confidence, detecting malfunctioning, helping users with performance
issues, reaching a consensus, deploying distributed solutions and allocating
plans, tasks and joint missions. The smart contract with decision-making
performance, planning and execution improves the implementation based on

Digitising the Industry Internet of Things Connecting the Physical, Digital and VirtualWorlds
This book provides an overview of the current Internet of Things (IoT) landscape, ranging from the research, innovation and development priorities to enabling technologies in a global context. Information Technology Platforms: Definition and Research Directions
The concept of an information technology (IT) related platform is broad and
covers phenomena ranging from the operating system Linux to the Internet. Such
platforms are of increasing importance to innovation and value creation across
many facets of industry and daily life. There is, however, a lack of common
understanding in both research and industry about what is mean by the term
platform when related to IT. This lack of consensus is detrimental to research
and knowledge development. Thus, the aims of this study are to: (i) provide a
sound definition of the IT-platform concept by identifying its distinguishing
dimensions; and (ii) identify important current research directions for the
IT-platform concept. To achieve these aims a systematic literature review was
undertaken with 133 relevant articles taken from major information systems
journals, conferences, and business publications. The study contributes by
