The importance of the world staying connected and up-to-date on current news and new information is only going to continue as technology improves and people look for new sources of education. As we see so many things shift online during the Covid-19 pandemic, it’s only natural that news would continue to shift that way as well. Even before the Covid-19 pandemic, podcasts were an alternate source of information that was becoming more and more popular. While the information distributed by podcasts and social media may not be as complete as news from stereotypical sources, they are much more effective because they are more accessible, better at capturing the audience’s attention, and can be used to educate people on important issues or start a conversation
Perception of Social and Behaviour Change Communication Media in Cross River State, Nigeria
In the wake of increased interventions into health and social problems arising from various behaviours in Cross River State, this paper is set to ascertain the most effective media that can be utilized for effective communication. The mass media of communication, including television, radio, newspapers and magazines, bill boards, hand bills, posters, theatre and many other social and interpersonal media of communication are available for patronage by interventionists targeting change in any society. The question however is which of the media is the most viable? To determine this, a survey was conducted to sample the opinions of 140 media students from two higher institutions: the University of Calabar and the Cross River University of Technology (CRUTECH), all in Cross River State. The population of the study comprised both undergraduates and graduate students of Theatre and Media Studies and Mass Communication in both institutions. Findings reveal that out of the fourteen (14) media tools brought into limelight, radio, television, and billboards are the most patronized tools for change communication. Coupled magnetic plasmons in metamaterials
Magnetic metamaterials consist of magnetic resonators smaller in size than
their excitation wavelengths. Their unique electromagnetic properties were
characterized by the effective media theory at the early stage. However, the
effective media model does not take into account the interactions between
magnetic elements; thus, the effective properties of bulk metamaterials are the
result of the "averaged effect" of many uncoupled resonators. In recent years,
it has been shown that the interaction between magnetic resonators could lead
to some novel phenomena and interesting applications that do not exist in
conventional uncoupled metamaterials. In this paper, we will give a review of
recent developments in magnetic plasmonics arising from the coupling effect in
metamaterials. For the system composed of several identical magnetic
resonators, the coupling between these units produces multiple discrete
resonance modes due to hybridization. In the case of a system comprising an
infinite number of magnetic elements, these multiple discrete resonances can be
extended to form a continuous frequency band by strong coupling. This kind of
broadband and tunable magnetic metamaterial may have interesting applications.
Many novel metamaterials and nanophotonic devices could be developed from

Influence of low-level Pr substitution on the superconducting properties of YBa2Cu3O7-delta single crystals
We report on measurements on Y1-xPrxBa2Cu3O7-delta single crystals, with x
varying from 0 to 2.4%. The upper and the lower critical fields, Hc2 and Hc1,
the Ginzburg-Landau parameter and the critical current density, Jc(B), were
determined from magnetization measurements and the effective media approach
scaling method. We present the influence of Pr substitution on the pinning
force density as well as on the trapped field profiles analyzed by Hall probe
