PENERAPAN MOVE-STEP PADA TEKS EDITORIAL HARIAN KOMPAS : Kajian Genre

(2014) yang meliputi obligatory, quasi-obligatory and optional. Selain itu, penelitian ini juga bermanfaaat dalam konteks pedagogi.;--Research on editorials section has been massively studied by many researchers concerning on schematic structure and rhetorical move-step analysis. However, these studies merely focus on how move-steps are applied to the English context, while studies on move-step analysis in the context of Indonesian are still not widely explored. Thus, this study aims to investigate the manifestation of moves and steps in the editorial section of the Harian Kompas newspaper. Using a qualitative descriptive methodology, the researcher analysed randomly selected 30 editorial texts from October 2018 to June 2019 focusing on national issues. This study adopted analytical framework from Bhatia (1993) to analyse rhetorical moves in general and Zarza & Tan (2016) to see the steps for each move. In terms of parameter occurrences, the researcher categorised them into obligatory, quasi-obligatory and optional (Joseph et al., 2014). The results reveal that there are four communicative purposes in the form of Moves which are categorised as obligatory, i.e. Headline, Presenting a Case, Justifying or Refuting Events and Articulating a Stance. However, several variations are found in the manifestation of steps. The results of this study might enrich the theoretical framework on editorial genre, particularly in Indonesian context. In other words, this could be as a guideline for teachers and students in teaching and learning on writing skills in argumentative texts, particularly in Indonesian context

Brexit and beyond: Transforming mobility and immobility

This Guest Editorial introduces a special issue entitled Brexit and Beyond: Transforming Mobility and Immobility. The unfolding story of Brexit provided the backdrop to a series of events, organised in 2018 and 2019, which were the result of a collaboration between migration researchers in Warsaw and the UK, funded by the Noble Foundation’s Programme on Modern Poland. The largest event – held in association with IMISCOE – was an international conference, arising from which we invited authors to contribute papers to this special issue on the implications of Brexit for the mobility and immobility of EU citizens, particularly – but not exclusively – from Central and Eastern Europe, living in the UK. As we outline in this Editorial, collectively, the papers comprising the special issue address three key themes: everyday implications and ‘living with Brexit’; renegotiating the ‘intentional unpredictability’ status and settling down; and planning the future and the return to countries of origin. In addition, we include an interview with Professor Nira Yuval-Davis, based on the substance of her closing plenary at the conference – racialisation and bordering. Her insightful analysis remains salient to the current situation – in June 2020, as the UK enters the final months of the Brexit transition period – in the unexpected midst of a global pandemic and an imminent recession

© 2020 This editorial calls for greater use of academic-practitioner workshops to co-create value for academics, practitioners and wider network actors through promotion of research relevance and sharing of problems, ideas and data. It describes how one such workshop, the 2nd Academic-Practitioner Research with Impact Workshop focusing on the design and decision making for customer experience, co-hosted in Manchester on 18th and 19th of June 2018 by Alliance Manchester Business School, University of Manchester and Loughborough University's Centre for Service Management (CSM), was delivered. The key processes for success and issues to consider for future such events are discussed. The workshop resulted in 8 papers (six theoretical and two empirical). This Special Issue advances current understanding of CE through the research considering the role of technology (AI and big data) in CE research, atypical CE (vulnerability, deviance behaviours and service failure and recovery) and focusing on important organizational and B2B issues (business model innovation, and CEM in business markets)
