    New commercial power electronic controllers come to the market almost every day to help improve electronic circuit and system performance and efficiency. In DC–DC switching-mode converters, a simple and elegant hysteretic controller is used to regulate the basic buck, boost and buck–boost converters under slightly different configurations. In AC–DC converters, the input current shaping for power factor correction posts a constraint. But, several brilliant commercial controllers are demonstrated for boost and fly back converters to achieve almost perfect power factor correction.     Path tracking control of differential drive mobile robot based on chaotic-billiards optimization algorithm

    Mobile robots are typically depending only on robot kinematics control. However, when high-speed motions and highly loaded transfer are considered, it is necessary to analyze dynamics of the robot to limit tracking error. The goal of this paper is to present a new algorithm, chaotic-billiards optimizer (C-BO) to optimize internal controller parameters of a differential-drive mobile robot (DDMR)-based dynamic model. The C-BO algorithm is notable for its ease of implementation, minimal number of design parameters, high convergence speed, and low computing burden. In addition, a comparison between the performance of C-BO and ant colony optimization (ACO) to determine the optimum controller coefficient that provides superior performance and convergence of the path tracking. The ISE criterion is selected as a fitness function in a simulation-based optimization strategy. For the point of accuracy, the velocity-based dynamic compensation controller was successfully integrated with the motion controller proposed in this study for the robot's kinematics. Control structure of the model was tested using MATLAB/Simulink. The results demonstrate that the suggested C-BO, with steady state error performance of 0.6 percent compared to ACO's 0.8 percent, is the optimum alternative for parameter optimizing the controller for precise path tracking. Also, it offers advantages of quick response, high tracking precision, and outstanding anti-interference capability

    Load Frequency Control (LFC) Strategies in Renewable Energy‐Based Hybrid Power Systems:A Review

    The hybrid power system is a combination of renewable energy power plants and conventional energy power plants. This integration causes power quality issues including poor settling times and higher transient contents. The main issue of such interconnection is the frequency variations caused in the hybrid power system. Load Frequency Controller (LFC) design ensures the reliable and efficient operation of the power system. The main function of LFC is to maintain the system frequency within safe limits, hence keeping power at a specific range. An LFC should be supported with modern and intelligent control structures for providing the adequate power to the system. This paper presents a comprehensive review of several LFC structures in a diverse configuration of a power system. First of all, an overview of a renewable energy-based power system is provided with a need for the development of LFC. The basic operation was studied in single-area, multi-area and multi-stage power system configurations. Types of controllers developed on different techniques studied with an overview of different control techniques were utilized. The comparative analysis of various controllers and strategies was performed graphically. The future scope of work provided lists the potential areas for conducting further research. Finally, the paper concludes by emphasizing the need for better LFC design in complex power system environments

    Hybrid MPPT Control: P&O and Neural Network for Wind Energy Conversion System

    In the field of wind turbine performance optimization, many techniques are employed to track the maximum power point (MPPT), one of the most commonly used MPPT algorithms is the perturb and observe technique (PO) because of its ease of implementation. However, the main disadvantage of this method is the lack of accuracy due to fluctuations around the maximum power point. In contrast, MPPT control employing neural networks proved to be an effective solution, in terms of accuracy. The contribution of this work is to propose a hybrid maximum power point tracking control using two types of MPPT control: neural network control (NNC) and the perturbation and observe method (PO), thus the PO method can offer better performance. Furthermore, this study aims to provide a comparison of the hybrid method with each algorithm and NNC. At the resulting duty cycle of the 2 methods, we applied the combination operation. A DC-DC boost converter is subjected to the hybrid MPPT control.  This converter is part of a wind energy conversion system employing a permanent magnet synchronous generator (PMSG). The chain is modeled using MATLAB/Simulink software. The effectiveness of the controller is tested at varying wind speeds. In terms of the Integral time absolute error (ITAE), using the PO technique, the ITAE is 9.72. But, if we apply the suggested technique, it is smaller at 4.55. The corresponding simulation results show that the proposed hybrid method performs best compared to the PO method. Simulation results ensure the performance of the proposed hybrid MPPT control.

    Optimal integral sliding mode controller controller design for 2-RLFJ manipulator based on hybrid optimization algorithm

    A newly hybrid nature-inspired algorithm called HSSGWOA is presented with the combination of the salp swarm algorithm (SSA) and grey wolf optimizer (GWO). The major idea is to combine the salp swarm algorithm's exploitation ability with the grey wolf optimizer's exploration ability to generate both variants' strength. The proposed algorithm uses to tune the parameters of the integral sliding mode controller (ISMC) that design to improve the dynamic performance of the two-link flexible joint manipulator. The efficiency and the capability of the proposed hybrid algorithm are evaluated based on the selected test functions. It is clear that when compared to other algorithms like SSA, GWO, differential evolution (DE), gravitational search algorithm (GSA), particles swarm optimization (PSO), and whale optimization algorithm (WOA). The ISMC parameters were tuned using the SSA, which was then compared to the HSSGWOA algorithm. The simulation results show the capabilities of the proposed algorithm, which gives an enhancement percentage of 57.46% compared to the standard algorithm for one of the links, and 55.86% for the other

    Stability Analysis and Design of Variable Step-Size P Algorithm Based on Fuzzy Robust Tracking of MPPT for Standalone/Grid Connected Power System

    This research aims to design a modified P&O algorithm for the efficient tracking of maximum power point (MPPT) for standalone and grid-connected systems. The proposed research work modifies the P&O algorithm for the dc-dc converter where the fixed step size P&O algorithm is translated into variable step size with the help of ant colony optimization (ACO) to generate optimal parameters for the PID controller to generate a variable step size in the P&O algorithm. This variable step size is dependent upon the error that is the difference between the generated power and desired power. By doing this it improves the efficiency of the P&O algorithm and its limitations are overcome. Furthermore, the PV is extended to connect with a grid where the inverter is controlled by a fuzzy logic controller (FLC) so that the combined structure of variable P&O and fuzzy helps to achieve MPP efficiently. The robustness of the proposed work is compared with other state-of-the-art controllers to justify the effectiveness of the proposed work. Finally, a stability test of the system is carried out to verify the overall stability of the power system
