This paper presents a spectral attention-driven reinforcement learning based intelligent method for effective and efficient detection of important signals in a wideband spectrum. In the work presented in this paper, it is assumed that the modulation technique used is available as a priori knowledge of the targeted important signal. The proposed spectral attention-driven intelligent method is consists of two main components, a spectral correlation function (SCF) based spectral visualization scheme and a spectral attention-driven reinforcement learning mechanism that adaptively selects the spectrum range and implements the intelligent signal detection. Simulations illustrate that the proposed method can achieve high accuracy of signal detection while observation of spectrum is limited to few ranges via effectively selecting the spectrum ranges to be observed. Furthermore, the proposed spectral attention-driven machine learning method can lead to an efficient adaptive intelligent spectrum sensor designs in cognitive radio (CR) receivers.Comment: 6 pages, 11 figure

An M-QAM Signal Modulation Recognition Algorithm in AWGN Channel

Computing the distinct features from input data, before the classification, is a part of complexity to the methods of Automatic Modulation Classification (AMC) which deals with modulation classification was a pattern recognition problem. Although the algorithms that focus on MultiLevel Quadrature Amplitude Modulation (M-QAM) which underneath different channel scenarios was well detailed. A search of the literature revealed indicates that few studies were done on the classification of high order M-QAM modulation schemes like128-QAM, 256-QAM, 512-QAM and1024-QAM. This work is focusing on the investigation of the powerful capability of the natural logarithmic properties and the possibility of extracting Higher-Order Cumulant's (HOC) features from input data received raw. The HOC signals were extracted under Additive White Gaussian Noise (AWGN) channel with four effective parameters which were defined to distinguished the types of modulation from the set; 4-QAM~1024-QAM. This approach makes the recognizer more intelligent and improves the success rate of classification. From simulation results, which was achieved under statistical models for noisy channels, manifest that recognized algorithm executes was recognizing in M-QAM, furthermore, most results were promising and showed that the logarithmic classifier works well over both AWGN and different fading channels, as well as it can achieve a reliable recognition rate even at a lower signal-to-noise ratio (less than zero), it can be considered as an Integrated Automatic Modulation Classification (AMC) system in order to identify high order of M-QAM signals that applied a unique logarithmic classifier, to represents higher versatility, hence it has a superior performance via all previous works in automatic modulation identification systemComment: 18 page

This paper addresses condition assessment of electrical assets contained in high voltage power plants. Our work introduces a novel analysis approach of multiple event signals related to faults, and which are measured using Electro-Magnetic Interference method. The proposed method transfers the expert’s knowledge on events presence in the signals to an intelligent system which could potentially be used for automatic EMI diagnosis. Cyclic spectrum analysis is used as feature extraction to efficiently extract the repetitive rate and the dynamic discharge level of the events, and multi-class support vector machine is adopted for their classification. This first and novel method achieved successful results which may have potential implications on developing a framework for automatic diagnosis tool of EMI events

Intelligent signal classification in industrial distributed wireless sensor networks-based IIoT

In industrial sensor networks, complex industrial environments may be encountered leading to a mix of signals of different types. Complicated interference caused by mixed signals on industrial equipments may significantly degrade the classification rate of signals, which may result in a long training time in order to extract features. In addition, with limited channel resources, it is difficult to make the global optimal decision in industrial distributed wireless sensor networks (IDWSN). To address this problem, a signal classification method using feature fusion is proposed for industrial Internet of things (IIoT) in this paper. In the proposed method, the received signals of nodes are processed by frequency reduction and sampling pretreatment, based on which intelligent representations of signals are obtained. Using federated learning, the data samples are trained with the feature fusion network. Moreover, the trained deep learning network is used on each sensor node to classify signals, the results of which will be transmitted to aggregation center. In the aggregation center, the improved evidence theory method is used to aggregate the recognition results of each sensor node to achieve the final classification. Simulation shows that the proposed method has excellent classification performances. Notably, it is not required for the proposed method to transmit signals from nodes to the aggregation center, which could effectively protect the privacy of industrial information
