A COMPREHENSIVE REVIEW ON THE EFFECTIVENESS OF REMOTE INTERVIEWS AND HIRING FOR NONPROFIT ORGANIZATIONS

In increasingly globalized societies, heavily dependent on online communication, it is crucial to provide children with exposure to various languages, cultural influences, and ideas linking people from all around the world. The choice to hire an au pair from outside the US not only allows families to broaden their intercultural horizons, but also provides unique opportunities for talented, specially trained childcare providers eager to experience life in America. Most families do not have the means to travel with their children internationally but can bring an authentic experience from another part of the world into their homes. People rely on online tools to ensure they have found the very best family-caregiver match. This study explores 123 host families’ experiences of interviewing and selecting au pairs, based on survey responses about the technological tools they used for interviewing and their recommended selection modalities.  Article visualizations

Exploring the Relationship Between Self-Esteem, Financial Egocentrism, and Fraud Susceptibility in Cyber-Enabled Fraud Schemes Involving Crypto Assets

The propensity to exploit others for one’s own benefit is continuously exhibited by bad actors. Unfortunately, this sentiment holds true in emerging asset classes, such as crypto assets. As a result, it is surprising that current research on fraud susceptibility is approached in a binary way. Researchers examine either what makes an individual predisposed to victimization by bad actors or what factors influence one’s propensity to perpetrate fraudulent schemes. This study bridged this substantial gap in current research by investigating if specific psychological factors influence when, or if, an individual shifts between these two outcomes. The psychological factors incorporated into this analysis included self-esteem, financial egocentrism, and fraud susceptibility. These variables were measured through self-reported assessments. Secondary analysis additionally explored the efficacy of the threat of punishment as a deterrent for the perpetration of cyber-enabled fraud schemes. The evidence indicated that higher levels of financial egocentrism were linked to higher fraud susceptibility. The study also identified that the threat of punishment did not have a statistically significant impact on the decision to perpetrate a cyber-enabled fraud scheme involving crypto assets

Conformance Checking of the Activity Network with the Social Relationships Structure in the Context of Social Commerce

Control and management of e-markets are one of the essential needs in social commerce context. Social commerce systems include not only informational flows, financial and goods/services but also social relationships and interactions. The focus of this research is to find the meaningful relationship between social relations and the network of various commercial flows among human resources (i.e., activity network) in social commerce context. If the activity network conforms with social relations, then business processes and, in general, the e-market can be steered by social relations. The proposed research framework has been constructed from a combination of process mining concepts, multi-layered network modeling, network analyzing, and social theories. Such a combination in the conformance checking field is an original contribution of this study, not yet explored. Two simulated sample datasets in four different versions are applied for the evaluation. Furthermore, Friedman\u27s statistical test is employed to proof of the research hypothesis and gain more confidence in the obtained results. The results indicate that, despite the structural mismatch of the social network with the activity network, social relations affect the formation of business interactions among human resources. This effect is also different for various flow types. Multi-layered network modeling demonstrates this difference
