On the Degrees of Freedom of time correlated MISO broadcast channel with delayed CSIT

We consider the time correlated MISO broadcast channel where the transmitter has partial knowledge on the current channel state, in addition to delayed channel state information (CSI). Rather than exploiting only the current CSI, as the zero-forcing precoding, or only the delayed CSI, as the Maddah-Ali-Tse (MAT) scheme, we propose a seamless strategy that takes advantage of both. The achievable degrees of freedom of the proposed scheme is characterized in terms of the quality of the current channel knowledge.Comment: 7 pages, 1 figure, submitted to ISIT 2012, extended version with detailed proof

Effects of practical impairments on cooperative distributed antennas combined with fractional frequency reuse

Cooperative Multiple Point (CoMP) transmission aided Distributed Antenna Systems (DAS) are proposed for increasing the received Signal-to-Interference-plus-Noise-Ratio (SINR) in the cell-edge area of a cellular system employing Fractional Frequency Reuse (FFR) in the presence of realistic imperfect Channel State Information (CSI) as well as synchronisation errors between the transmitters and the receivers. Our simulation results demonstrate that the CoMP aided DAS scenario is capable of increasing the attainable SINR by up to 3dB in the presence of a wide range of realistic imperfections

Adaptive resource allocation within three-stage OFDM relay networks

In this work we consider OFDM transmission, due to its potential for meeting the stringent quality of service (QoS) targets of next-generation broadband distributed wireless networks, over three-stage relay networks. In particular, we examine distributed adaptive space-frequency coding for generally asynchronous links composed of four transmit and/or receive antennas, i.e. exploiting quasi-orthogonal and extended-orthogonal coding schemes. The successful deployment of these closed-loop methods is dependent upon channel state information (CSI) being available for each stage of the network. Taking the maximum end-to-end data rate as the optimal criterion, an adaptive resource allocation (RA) scheme suitable for a wide range of signal-to-noise-ratios (SNRs) and a prescribed transmit power budget is proposed to distribute appropriate resources to each stage based on the channel state information (CSI) and knowledge of the network topology

A CM based equalizer for space-time spreading over channels with inter-Symbol interference

    Get PDF
Space-time block coding (STBC) and a number of derivative techniques have been developed to maximize the diversity gain of a multi-input multi-output (MIMO) channel. This was later generalized for multi-user DS-CDMA systems through space-time spreading (STS), [3] and [4], which assumed flat fading as well as the availability of full channel state information (CSI) at the receiver. This paper focuses on the development of a blind chip-rate method for the equalization of STS over channels with inter-symbol interference (ISI). Simulation results are presented to demonstrate the convergence and noise resilience of the derived algorithm
