Malcolm Steve Forbes Jr., editor-in-chief of FORBES Magazine, looks often to history to explain the present and to predict the future. In an address to the 21st annual Governor\u27s Economic Development Conference at the University of Maine last fall, Forbes identified two important trends, one grounded in the past (the Cold War), and one symbolic of the rapid change experienced at present (the microchip), in suggesting that the economic future for Maine and the nation is only limited by our willingness to give in to our fears about what that future holds. After 19 years of continuing publication CIT. Journal of Computing and Information Technology has entered a new stage in its life, experiencing another change at the helm: Professor Sven Lončarić stepped down from the position of Editor-in-Chief, with me taking it. In his 12 years term, aside from improving CIT’s attractiveness among the research community, Sven also succeeded in achieving a new quality in publishing CIT by introducing its electronic edition. In relieving Sven from this duty, I am sure to express the common feeling of gratitude for his valuable contribution to CIT, both in carrying out the daily routine as well as in implementing new journal policies

The recent redesign of the Gardner-Webb University alumni magazine gained national attention following a front-page feature story in the March 2014 issue of the “Non-Profit Communications Report.” Titled “Redesign Efforts Help Publications Stay Fresh, Relevant,” the feature (written by Sarah Ammerman) focuses on the recent decision by the GWU Office of University Communications to change the design and format of both the print and digital magazines. Noel Manning, chief communications officer for Gardner-Webb, and Ryan Gunter, design editor for the magazine, discussed the redesign and the positive feedback they received from constituents.https://digitalcommons.gardner-webb.edu/gardner-webb-newscenter-archive/2457/thumbnail.jp
