    Blind audio watermarking technique based on two dimensional cellular automata

    In this paper we propose a new method of digital audio watermarking based on two dimensional cellular automata; the method increases the dimension of the audio and uses cellular automata in generating the key of watermark embedding. The watermarking method is blind, and does not require the original host audio or any of its features to extract the watermark; the watermark can be easily extracted using the right key. The experimental results show that the watermarks are imperceptible; and show a high similarity between the original and the watermarked audio. Cosine similarity and peak signal-to-noise ratio were used to measure the similarity between the original audio and the watermarked audio

    Perceptual Mapping-Based Image Tamper Detection and Recovery Algorithm

    The importance of digital image authentication has grown in the last decade particularly with the widespread availability of digital media and image manipulation tools. As a result, different techniques were developed to detect fraudulent alterations in digital images and restore the original data. In this paper, a new algorithm is proposed to authenticate images by hiding a copy of the approximation band in the original image. The approximation band is hidden by embedding it inside the image pixels. The intensity of the hiding was decided using a perceptual map that simulates the human vision system and adds more intensity in areas where the human eye cannot recognize changes. The perceptual map consists of three parts, luminance mask, texture mask, and edge detection mask. Results show a high ability to blindly recover images after different attacks such as removing and blocking attacks. At the same time, the structure similarity index of resultant images was higher than 0.99 for all tested images

    Evolution of high computational powerful computers, easy availability of several innovative editing software package and high-definition quality-based image capturing tools follows to effortless result in producing image forgery. Though, threats for security and misinterpretation of digital images and scenes have been observed to be happened since a long period and also a lot of research has been established in developing diverse techniques to authenticate the digital images. On the contrary, the research in this region is not limited to checking the validity of digital photos but also to exploring the specific signs of distortion or forgery. This analysis would not require additional prior information of intrinsic content of corresponding digital image or prior embedding of watermarks. In this paper, recent growth in the area of digital image tampering identification have been discussed along with benchmarking study has been shown with qualitative and quantitative results. With variety of methodologies and concepts, different applications of forgery detection have been discussed with corresponding outcomes especially using machine and deep learning methods in order to develop efficient automated forgery detection system. The future applications and development of advanced soft-computing based techniques in digital image forgery tampering has been discussed

    Color Image Scrambling Technique Based on Transposition of Pixels between RGB Channels Using Knight’s Moving Rules and Digital Chaotic Map

    Nowadays, increasingly, it seems that the use of rule sets of the most popular games, particularly in new images’ encryption algorithms designing branch, leads to the crystallization of a new paradigm in the field of cryptography. Thus, motivated by this, the present paper aims to study a newly designed digital image scrambler (as part of the two fundamental techniques used to encrypt a block of pixels, i.e., the permutation stage) that uses knight’s moving rules (i.e., from the game of chess), in conjunction with a chaos-based pseudorandom bit generator, abbreviated PRBG, in order to transpose original image’s pixels between RGB channels. Theoretical and practical arguments, rounded by good numerical results on scrambler’s performances analysis (i.e., under various investigation methods, including visual inspection, adjacent pixels’ correlation coefficients’ computation, key’s space and sensitivity assessment, etc.) confirm viability of the proposed method (i.e., it ensures the coveted confusion factor) recommending its usage within cryptographic applications
