Randomized benchmarking in measurement-based quantum computing
Randomized benchmarking is routinely used as an efficient method for
characterizing the performance of sets of elementary logic gates in small
quantum devices. In the measurement-based model of quantum computation, logic
gates are implemented via single-site measurements on a fixed universal
resource state. Here we adapt the randomized benchmarking protocol for a single
qubit to a linear cluster state computation, which provides partial, yet
efficient characterization of the noise associated with the target gate set.
Applying randomized benchmarking to measurement-based quantum computation
exhibits an interesting interplay between the inherent randomness associated
with logic gates in the measurement-based model and the random gate sequences
used in benchmarking. We consider two different approaches: the first makes use
of the standard single-qubit Clifford group, while the second uses recently
introduced (non-Clifford) measurement-based 2-designs, which harness inherent

Computing server power modeling in a data center: survey,taxonomy and performance evaluation
Data centers are large scale, energy-hungry infrastructure serving the
increasing computational demands as the world is becoming more connected in
smart cities. The emergence of advanced technologies such as cloud-based
services, internet of things (IoT) and big data analytics has augmented the
growth of global data centers, leading to high energy consumption. This upsurge
in energy consumption of the data centers not only incurs the issue of surging
high cost (operational and maintenance) but also has an adverse effect on the
environment. Dynamic power management in a data center environment requires the
cognizance of the correlation between the system and hardware level performance
counters and the power consumption. Power consumption modeling exhibits this
correlation and is crucial in designing energy-efficient optimization
strategies based on resource utilization. Several works in power modeling are
proposed and used in the literature. However, these power models have been
evaluated using different benchmarking applications, power measurement
techniques and error calculation formula on different machines. In this work,
we present a taxonomy and evaluation of 24 software-based power models using a
unified environment, benchmarking applications, power measurement technique and
error formula, with the aim of achieving an objective comparison. We use
different servers architectures to assess the impact of heterogeneity on the

Randomized measurement protocols for lattice gauge theories
Randomized measurement protocols, including classical shadows, entanglement
tomography, and randomized benchmarking are powerful techniques to estimate
observables, perform state tomography, or extract the entanglement properties
of quantum states. While unraveling the intricate structure of quantum states
is generally difficult and resource-intensive, quantum systems in nature are
often tightly constrained by symmetries. This can be leveraged by the
symmetry-conscious randomized measurement schemes we propose, yielding clear
advantages over symmetry-blind randomization such as reducing measurement
costs, enabling symmetry-based error mitigation in experiments, allowing
differentiated measurement of (lattice) gauge theory entanglement structure,
and, potentially, the verification of topologically ordered states in existing

Performance measurement in the service business: the facilities management function
The nature of performance measurement has changed over the past few decades. Generally performance measurement indicates successful management in the fulfilment of organisation goals. In service businesses measuring customer satisfaction and service quality has become an industry standard and as FM is becomes more widely recognised as a component in the business value chain and corporate strategic objectives, the adoption of performance indicators that relate directly to the core business driver is key to success. This paper examines the state of knowledge of performance measurement in a facilities management context, expounds and reveals the role that performance measurement plays in the overall efficiency of the FM service function in relation to service business operation. The paper suggests that a fully developed performance measurement solution can deliver as a business tool whilst acting as a driver in the innovation process of service organisation
Cloud Services Brokerage: A Survey and Research Roadmap
A Cloud Services Brokerage (CSB) acts as an intermediary between cloud
service providers (e.g., Amazon and Google) and cloud service end users,
providing a number of value adding services. CSBs as a research topic are in
there infancy. The goal of this paper is to provide a concise survey of
existing CSB technologies in a variety of areas and highlight a roadmap, which
