    How Artificial Intelligence Will Affect Law Firms?

    This paper aims to give a fundamental understanding of how artificial intelligence will affect the legal industry. The overall purpose of the study is to explore a wide range of topics that ultimately show how AI can be the most effective in the workforce. Currently, AI has many setbacks in terms of its logical-decision making, meaning, when AI is used in our legal system, there is always legal precedence that should never be overlooked. The basic design of the study is discussing the innovative AI programs, the legal profession v. human intelligence, ethical aspects, Law School curriculum, and the global job market at law firms. I focused more on the domestic legal system in my argument, but I also touched on international statistics to help shape a broader macro outlook. As a result, we will see a multifaceted legal industry that is interdependent in many ways. Furthermore, the U.S. legal system is looking to continually improve the way AI is implemented at law firms and in court while learning how it reacts in a different geopolitical environment. In summary, my research analysis will explain how AI is useful to many law firms, but more importantly, recognize the fact that it lacks the “human individuality” in the way information is being presented

    A MULTI-FUNCTIONAL PROVENANCE ARCHITECTURE: CHALLENGES AND SOLUTIONS

    In service-oriented environments, services are put together in the form of a workflow with the aim of distributed problem solving. Capturing the execution details of the services' transformations is a significant advantage of using workflows. These execution details, referred to as provenance information, are usually traced automatically and stored in provenance stores. Provenance data contains the data recorded by a workflow engine during a workflow execution. It identifies what data is passed between services, which services are involved, and how results are eventually generated for particular sets of input values. Provenance information is of great importance and has found its way through areas in computer science such as: Bioinformatics, database, social, sensor networks, etc. Current exploitation and application of provenance data is very limited as provenance systems started being developed for specific applications. Thus, applying learning and knowledge discovery methods to provenance data can provide rich and useful information on workflows and services. Therefore, in this work, the challenges with workflows and services are studied to discover the possibilities and benefits of providing solutions by using provenance data. A multifunctional architecture is presented which addresses the workflow and service issues by exploiting provenance data. These challenges include workflow composition, abstract workflow selection, refinement, evaluation, and graph model extraction. The specific contribution of the proposed architecture is its novelty in providing a basis for taking advantage of the previous execution details of services and workflows along with artificial intelligence and knowledge management techniques to resolve the major challenges regarding workflows. The presented architecture is application-independent and could be deployed in any area. The requirements for such an architecture along with its building components are discussed. Furthermore, the responsibility of the components, related works and the implementation details of the architecture along with each component are presented

This paper presents the results of the conducted secondary research on the application of artificial intelligence in knowledge creation, and based on the conducted research, a framework for knowledge creation was proposed. This framework starts with collecting data from different sensors on devices or machines and from employees. Gathering large amount of data then creates Big Data databases from which through data mining knowledge is created. In further research, the proposed framework will be used to conduct primary research on the impact of artificial intelligence on creating knowledge and managing it

    Integrating artificial intelligence for knowledge management systems – synergy among people and technology: a systematic review of the evidence

    This paper analyses Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Knowledge Management (KM) and focuses primarily on examining to what degree AI can help companies in their efforts to handle information and manage knowledge effectively. A search was carried out for relevant electronic bibliographic databases and reference lists of relevant review articles. Articles were screened and the eligibility was based on participants, procedures, comparisons, outcomes (PICO) model, and criteria for PRISMA (Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews). The results reveal that knowledge management and AI are interrelated fields as both are intensely connected to knowledge; the difference reflects in how – while AI offers machines the ability to learn, KM offers a platform to better understand knowledge. The research findings further point out that communication, trust, information systems, incentives or rewards, and the structure of an organization; are related to knowledge sharing in organizations. This systematic literature review is the first to throw light on KM practices & the knowledge cycle and how the integration of AI aids knowledge management systems, enterprise performance & distribution of knowledge within the organization. The outcomes offer a better understanding of efficient and effective knowledge resource management for organizational advantage. Future research is necessary on smart assistant systems thus providing social benefits that strengthen competitive advantage. This study indicates that organizations must take note of definite KM leadership traits and organizational arrangements to achieve stable performance through KM

    Employing Explainable Artificial Intelligence (XAI) Methodologies to Analyze the Correlation between Input Variables and Tensile Strength in Additively Manufactured Samples

    This research paper explores the impact of various input parameters, including Infill percentage, Layer Height, Extrusion Temperature, and Print Speed, on the resulting Tensile Strength in objects produced through additive manufacturing. The main objective of this study is to enhance our understanding of the correlation between the input parameters and Tensile Strength, as well as to identify the key factors influencing the performance of the additive manufacturing process. To achieve this objective, we introduced the utilization of Explainable Artificial Intelligence (XAI) techniques for the first time, which allowed us to analyze the data and gain valuable insights into the system's behavior. Specifically, we employed SHAP (SHapley Additive exPlanations), a widely adopted framework for interpreting machine learning model predictions, to provide explanations for the behavior of a machine learning model trained on the data. Our findings reveal that the Infill percentage and Extrusion Temperature have the most significant influence on Tensile Strength, while the impact of Layer Height and Print Speed is relatively minor. Furthermore, we discovered that the relationship between the input parameters and Tensile Strength is highly intricate and nonlinear, making it difficult to accurately describe using simple linear models

    Technology has created important new possibilities to expand and enrich the scholar\u27s work situation. The Internet, on-line databases, collaborative technologies including Listserv/discussion groups and teleconferencing have made it possible for nonprofit scholars to collaborate in innovative new ways and produce their work at unprecedented rates. Electronic technology is one of the significant forces underpinning the growth on nonprofit scholarship. A number of institutions have made great strides in providing a rich research environment for nonprofit scholars. Efforts to create on-line communities have been fruitful and rewarding. Nonprofit researchers can develop relationships and share ideas with others anywhere in the world. The development of significant on-line nonprofit materials has freed scholars from the necessity to physically visit inaccessible libraries and archives. These developments will experience additional significant improvements with such innovations as XML-based document sharing systems (Lohmann, 2001). Now is the time to take the next steps. Ubiquitous Technology – available everywhere and relatively transparent or invisible – within the knowledge management framework proposed by Lohmann (2001) can create entirely new and ongoing nonprofit research conversations. Wireless technology and various types of smart resources can build on the progress already made and help create a scholarly community within virtual space (Dertouzos, 1997; 2001). This paper examines the role of ubiquitous technology in the ongoing world of nonprofit research and theory building, the current supports for scholarship and proposed new possibilities.
