Talking Glossary of Genomics Terminology: A Genomics Education Module for American Indian Communities

This paper describes the development of an audio visual genomics glossary that was designed as an education tool for American Indian communities. This “Talking Glossary of Genomics Terminology” is a multimedia DVD that was modeled on the “Talking Glossary of Genetics,” which was developed by the National Human Genome Research Institute (NHGRI). The NHGRI Glossary was modified and expanded with content designed to increase awareness among American Indians about cancer, genomics, and personalized medicine. To better assess the dynamics of domestic violence gun homicides in Arizona, Everytown collaborated with the Arizona Coalition to End Sexual and Domestic Violence (ACESDV) to closely examine intimate partner gun homicides in Arizona between 2009-2013. PENGARUH KONSELING BEHAVIOR THERAPY UNTUK MENGATASI PERILAKU TERISOLIR PADA REMAJA

This study aims to determine how the influence of behavior therapy counseling to overcome isolated behavior of junior high school students. In this study, researchers used qualitative research methods with a qualitative descriptive model. Subjects taken in this study amounted to 7 students who came from class VIII. Data collection methods in this study using observation, interviews and documentation. The validity of the data used was data triangulation technique, in research the data used was source triangulation. The data analysis that the researchers used was inductive analysis with steps consisting of data reduction, data presentation, and the last, in the form of drawing conclusions. The results showed that behavior therapy counseling to overcome students' isolated behavior can be applied in junior high schools. This is evidenced by the results of research which show the isolated behavior of students before being given behavior therapy counseling services is in the low category. Meanwhile, after being provided with behavior therapy counseling services, it shows that 5 people are in the high category and the other 2 people are in the category that is in several indicator

Meningkatkan Kemampuan Kepala Sekolah dalam Mengelola Sekolah melalui Workshop Total Quality Management dan Supervisi Manajerial di SMP Binaan

Penelitian ini bertujuan meningkatkan kemampuan kepala sekolah dalam mengelola sekolah melalui workshop total quality management (TQM) dan supervisi manajerial di sekolah binaan. Subyek penelitian tindakan sekolah ini adalah lima orang kepala sekolah yang bertugas pada 1) SMP Al-Mukmin Percut Sei Tuan, 2) SMP Maetreawira Percut Sei Tuan, 3) SMP Amir Hamzah Percut Sei Tuan 4) SMP Al-Maksum Percut Sei Tuan dan 5) SMP Negeri 5 Percut Sei Tuan. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode penelitian tindakan sekolah melalui 2 siklus. Teknik analisis data menggunakan perhitungan persentase jumlah kepala sekolah yang mampu menerapkan total quality management dengan jumlah persentase kepala sekolah yang belum mampu menerapkan total quality management. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan: (1) Kepala SMP Al-Mukmin Percut Sei Tuan yang pada siklus I baru menerapkan 55,56% indikator TQM, namun pada siklus II telah menerapkan 100% indikator TQM; (2) Kepala SMP Maetreawira Percut Sei Tuan, yang pada siklus I baru menerapkan 51,85% indikator TQM, namun pada siklus II telah menerapkan 100% indikator TQM, (3) Kepala SMP Amir Hamzah Percut Sei Tuan yang pada siklus I baru menerapkan 55,56% indikator TQM, namun pada siklus II telah menerapkan 100% indikator TQM, (4) Kepala SMP Al-Maksum Percut Sei Tuan yang pada siklus I baru menerapkan 48,15% indikator TQM namun pada siklus II telah menerapkan 100% indikator TQM, (5) Kepala SMP Negeri 5 Percut Sei Tuan yang pada siklus I baru menerapkan 55,56% indikator TQM, namun pada siklus II telah menerapkan 100% indikator TQM, (8) Kemampuan manajemen kepala sekolah dalam menerapkan TQM meningkat setelah dilakukan workshop dan supervisi manajerial
