This research is related to the automatic integration of the Teaching Plan (TP) or Scheme of Work (SOW) into Moodle; a popular course management software (CMS). SOW is a document prepared by academic teachers to detail out a plan of the course throughout the teaching duration. It helps to better manage student activities such as quizzes, exam, topics, and etc. However, most departments like the School of Computing (SOC) normally prepare the document manually. Moodle allows for course to be managed effectively though the use of a web service. There are hundreds of features provided by Moodle to assist in teaching. Moodle divides the teaching duration according to pre-set dates. Current Moodle practice is that the SOW needs to be added manually into the SOW section of Moodle. This study found that most of the time, the lecturers’ SOW documents are not the same with their Moodle content and thus would have to modify accordingly. This is due to the manual entry for the SOW in the Moodle system that takes time and becomes cumbersome. This study presents a potential solution and describe show the SOW structure can be integrated automatically according to the weekly activities, like assignments and quizzes, by using a plugin developed in this study. The methodology used in this study is made up of five steps, namely, the awareness of the problem, suggestion, development, evaluation, and conclusion. Based on the evaluation performed through sampling, the plugin developed through this study has significant value by saving precious time in assisting the academician’s task of updating and using Moodle, specifically related to the SOW

The English language proficiency of international students admitted to study different academic programs in University of Utara Malaysia is of paramount importance. Students are expected to communicate satisfactorily (verbal and written) during the course of their studies. The presently conducted English placement test is paper-based, which is time consuming and effort spending. This study aims to develop a web-based English Language Placement Test; in order to reduce the time and efforts which are required in paper based tests. Therefore, Vaishnavi method is used to design and develop the prototype model. According to the requirements are collected through interview with both students and department staff. Moreover, the prototype model is proposed, and the system is developed. Furthermore, the user acceptance test is conducted

International audienceThe increase in the production of heterogeneous and multi-source digital data over last years raises several issues regarding their management and use. Hence, users can face some difficulties in selecting the adequate digital resources and combining them to reach their objectives in a given activity. In this paper, we focus on digital resources design and management in order to enhance their retrieval, interoperability, adaptation and collaboration within an adaptive system. In practical terms, our work consists in a new method for digital resource design and management capable of enhancing their usability. It relies on RESTful web service-based methodology and platform thinking approach. We have implemented our method in an interactive and adaptive PLE to assist researchers in using and managing their digital resources, called PRISE for PeRsonal Interactive research Smart Environment. We have also undertaken some experiments with PRISE platform in our laboratory. The result showed that modeling digital resources with RESTful and platform thinking concept enhances digital resource usability in terms of retrieving, interoperability, adaptation and collaboration
