An Anti-Interference Scheme for UAV Data Links in Air–Ground Integrated Vehicular Networks
As one of the main applications of the Internet of things (IoT), the vehicular ad-hoc network (VANET) is the core of the intelligent transportation system (ITS). Air–ground integrated vehicular networks (AGIVNs) assisted by unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) have the advantages of wide coverage and flexible configuration, which outperform the ground-based VANET in terms of communication quality. However, the complex electromagnetic interference (EMI) severely degrades the communication performance of UAV sensors. Therefore, it is meaningful and challenging to design an efficient anti-interference scheme for UAV data links in AGIVNs. In this paper, we propose an anti-interference scheme, named as Mary-MCM, for UAV data links in AGIVNs based on multi-ary (M-ary) spread spectrum and multi-carrier modulation (MCM). Specifically, the Mary-MCM disperses the interference power by expanding the signal spectrum, such that the anti-interference ability of AGIVNs is enhanced. Besides, by using MCM and multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) technologies, the Mary-MCM improves the spectrum utilization effectively while ensuring system performance. Intelligent-Reflecting-Surface-Assisted UAV Communications for 6G Networks
In 6th-Generation (6G) mobile networks, Intelligent Reflective Surfaces
(IRSs) and Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) have emerged as promising
technologies to address the coverage difficulties and resource constraints
faced by terrestrial networks. UAVs, with their mobility and low costs, offer
diverse connectivity options for mobile users and a novel deployment paradigm
for 6G networks. However, the limited battery capacity of UAVs, dynamic and
unpredictable channel environments, and communication resource constraints
result in poor performance of traditional UAV-based networks. IRSs can not only
reconstruct the wireless environment in a unique way, but also achieve wireless
network relay in a cost-effective manner. Hence, it receives significant
attention as a promising solution to solve the above challenges. In this
article, we conduct a comprehensive survey on IRS-assisted UAV communications
for 6G networks. First, primary issues, key technologies, and application
scenarios of IRS-assisted UAV communications for 6G networks are introduced.
Then, we put forward specific solutions to the issues of IRS-assisted UAV
communications. Finally, we discuss some open issues and future research
directions to guide researchers in related fields
Blockchain-Based Security Architecture for Unmanned Aerial Vehicles in B5G/6G Services and Beyond: A Comprehensive Approach
Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs), previously favored by enthusiasts, have
evolved into indispensable tools for effectively managing disasters and
responding to emergencies. For example, one of their most critical applications
is to provide seamless wireless communication services in remote rural areas.
Thus, it is substantial to identify and consider the different security
challenges in the research and development associated with advanced UAV-based
B5G/6G architectures. Following this requirement, the present study thoroughly
examines the security considerations about UAVs in relation to the
architectural framework of the 5G/6G system, the technologies that facilitate
its operation, and the concerns surrounding privacy. It exhibits security
integration at all the protocol stack layers and analyzes the existing
mechanisms to secure UAV-based B5G/6G communications and its energy and power
optimization factors. Last, this article also summarizes modern technological
trends for establishing security and protecting UAV-based systems, along with

UAV-Assisted Space-Air-Ground Integrated Networks: A Technical Review of Recent Learning Algorithms
Recent technological advancements in space, air and ground components have
made possible a new network paradigm called "space-air-ground integrated
network" (SAGIN). Unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) play a key role in SAGINs.
However, due to UAVs' high dynamics and complexity, the real-world deployment
of a SAGIN becomes a major barrier for realizing such SAGINs. Compared to the
space and terrestrial components, UAVs are expected to meet performance
requirements with high flexibility and dynamics using limited resources.
Therefore, employing UAVs in various usage scenarios requires well-designed
planning in algorithmic approaches. In this paper, we provide a comprehensive
review of recent learning-based algorithmic approaches. We consider possible
reward functions and discuss the state-of-the-art algorithms for optimizing the
reward functions, including Q-learning, deep Q-learning, multi-armed bandit
(MAB), particle swarm optimization (PSO) and satisfaction-based learning
algorithms. Unlike other survey papers, we focus on the methodological
perspective of the optimization problem, which can be applicable to various
UAV-assisted missions on a SAGIN using these algorithms. We simulate users and
environments according to real-world scenarios and compare the learning-based
and PSO-based methods in terms of throughput, load, fairness, computation time,
etc. We also implement and evaluate the 2-dimensional (2D) and 3-dimensional
(3D) variations of these algorithms to reflect different deployment cases. Our
simulation suggests that the D satisfaction-based learning algorithm
outperforms the other approaches for various metrics in most cases. We discuss
some open challenges at the end and our findings aim to provide design
guidelines for algorithm selections while optimizing the deployment of

A Survey on UAV-Aided Maritime Communications: Deployment Considerations, Applications, and Future Challenges
Maritime activities represent a major domain of economic growth with several
emerging maritime Internet of Things use cases, such as smart ports, autonomous
navigation, and ocean monitoring systems. The major enabler for this exciting
ecosystem is the provision of broadband, low-delay, and reliable wireless
coverage to the ever-increasing number of vessels, buoys, platforms, sensors,
and actuators. Towards this end, the integration of unmanned aerial vehicles
(UAVs) in maritime communications introduces an aerial dimension to wireless
connectivity going above and beyond current deployments, which are mainly
relying on shore-based base stations with limited coverage and satellite links
with high latency. Considering the potential of UAV-aided wireless
communications, this survey presents the state-of-the-art in UAV-aided maritime
communications, which, in general, are based on both conventional optimization
and machine-learning-aided approaches. More specifically, relevant UAV-based
network architectures are discussed together with the role of their building
blocks. Then, physical-layer, resource management, and cloud/edge computing and
caching UAV-aided solutions in maritime environments are discussed and grouped
based on their performance targets. Moreover, as UAVs are characterized by
flexible deployment with high re-positioning capabilities, studies on UAV
trajectory optimization for maritime applications are thoroughly discussed. In
addition, aiming at shedding light on the current status of real-world
deployments, experimental studies on UAV-aided maritime communications are
presented and implementation details are given. Finally, several important open
issues in the area of UAV-aided maritime communications are given, related to
the integration of sixth generation (6G) advancements
IRS-aided UAV for Future Wireless Communications: A Survey and Research Opportunities
Both unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) and intelligent reflecting surfaces
(IRS) are gaining traction as transformative technologies for upcoming wireless
networks. The IRS-aided UAV communication, which introduces IRSs into UAV
communications, has emerged in an effort to improve the system performance
while also overcoming UAV communication constraints and issues. The purpose of
this paper is to provide a comprehensive overview of IRSassisted UAV
communications. First, we provide five examples of how IRSs and UAVs can be
combined to achieve unrivaled potential in difficult situations. The
technological features of the most recent relevant researches on IRS-aided UAV
communications from the perspective of the main performance criteria, i.e.,
energy efficiency, security, spectral efficiency, etc. Additionally, previous
research studies on technology adoption as machine learning algorithms. Lastly,
some promising research directions and open challenges for IRS-aided UAV
communication are presented
A survey of electromagnetic influence on uavs from an ehv power converter stations and possible countermeasures
National Natural Science Foundation of China (Grant Nos. 11872148, U1908217, 61801034).It is inevitable that high-intensity, wide-spectrum electromagnetic emissions are generated by the power electronic equipment of the Extra High Voltage (EHV) power converter station. The surveillance flight of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) is thus, situated in a complex electromagnetic environment. The ubiquitous electromagnetic interference demands higher electromagnetic protection requirements from the UAV construction and operation. This article is related to the UAVs patrol inspections of the power line in the vicinity of the EHV converter station. The article analyzes the electromagnetic interference characteristics of the converter station equipment in the surrounding space and the impact of the electromagnetic emission on the communication circuits of the UAV. The anti-electromagnetic interference countermeasures strive to eliminate or reduce the threats of electromagnetic emissions on the UAV’s hardware and its communication network.publishersversionpublishe
