    A language for information commerce processes

    Automatizing information commerce requires languages to represent the typical information commerce processes. Existing languages and standards cover either only very specific types of business models or are too general to capture in a concise way the specific properties of information commerce processes. We introduce a language that is specifically designed for information commerce. It can be directly used for the implementation of the processes and communication required in information commerce. It allows to cover existing business models that are known either from standard proposals or existing information commerce applications on the Internet. The language has a concise logical semantics.     The use of electronic commerce for quality control and cost cutting efficiencies by the food and agricultural industries in the United States is the focus of this paper. The food industry engages in e-commerce through 1.) Internet shopping for consumers called business-to-consumer (B2C) e-commerce 2.) Business-to-business (B2B) Internet market discovery exchanges used by food suppliers at any point in the supply chain, and 3.) Business-to-business (B2B) relationships that reduce costs and increase efficiencies in the procurement, storage and delivery of food to retail stores or distribution centers. This third use of e-commerce is the most highly developed and widely adopted. It allows retailers to share information about consumers' purchases and preferences with food manufacturers and farmers and for tracking food products' characteristics, source, and movement from production to consumer. This circle of information allows high quality and consistent products to be consumed at lower prices. This paper is about the development of e-commerce in the food industry, the economic concepts and goals that it meets, and the changes it brings to the industry. E-commerce both fosters and demands vertical coordination. It favors consolidation of firms. It changes the business culture from one of adversarial relationships to one of cooperation and trust. It changes the historical supply chain into a supply/demand loop while it lowers the cost of food.     With the growth of international healthcare operations, methods to improve connectivity are sought, along with a reduction in major barriers of electronic connectivity between global trading partners. To address these barriers, a conceptual agent-based framework following a proposed methodology for the analysis and design stages is developed to allow for improved ease of connectivity and interpretability between international trading partners. This framework is comprised of agents and is applied to connectivity between healthcare entities such as payers and providers. While many healthcare entities exchange information electronically, few do so without some form of manual intervention. Information systems may be engaged to further enhance the healthcare industry. Given the increases in costs and international presence, it is vital to make use of electronic systems that improve overall quality and cost of healthcare

    E-commerce short for electronic commerce is trading in products or services using computer networks, such as the Internet. The proposed e marketing model here is an e-commerce portal for online medicine trading and searching providing customers the list of nearby medical shops where the particular medicine is available and also online purchasing facility for that medicine. This model is basically proposing a new idea in E-marketing to supply medicines online and the customer can search the medicinersquos availability in nearby medical shops. The purpose behind making such e-commerce portal is providing customers a 24*7 availability of medicines. The shopkeepers will register over the portal and will let their medicine to be sold online. This will play a very important role in providing rare medicines at remote places where there is unavailability of medicines and also there will be a detailed list of medicines available in the stock. After implementing the proposed model, B2B and B2C transactions and sales would be increasing in coming years and it has a major impact of USAbility on e-marketing strategy of electronic business

    EDI and intelligent agents integration to manage food chains

    Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) is a type of inter-organizational information system, which permits the automatic and structured communication of data between organizations. Although EDI is used for internal communication, its main application is in facilitating closer collaboration between organizational entities, e.g. suppliers, credit institutions, and transportation carriers. This study illustrates how agent technology can be used to solve real food supply chain inefficiencies and optimise the logistics network. For instance, we explain how agribusiness companies can use agent technology in association with EDI to collect data from retailers, group them into meaningful categories, and then perform different functions. As a result, the distribution chain can be managed more efficiently. Intelligent agents also make available timely data to inventory management resulting in reducing stocks and tied capital. Intelligent agents are adoptive to changes so they are valuable in a dynamic environment where new products or partners have entered into the supply chain. This flexibility gives agent technology a relative advantage which, for pioneer companies, can be a competitive advantage. The study concludes with recommendations and directions for further research
