PDA-based system for monitoring electromagnetic signals

The development of a mobile system for receiving, storing, and displaying electromagnetic-signals (EM) at specific frequencies using mobile devices and wireless networks, is of extreme interest, especially when the final means of display is a PDA, a very light and compact handheld device. In the present study, an application is developed for remote monitoring of EM-signals preceding seismic events. The particular advantages and challenges faced when developing such application are explained and future work in this area is presented

Heart Failure Monitoring System Based on Wearable and Information Technologies

In Europe, Cardiovascular Diseases (CVD) are the leading source of death, causing 45% of all deceases. Besides, Heart Failure, the paradigm of CVD, mainly affects people older than 65. In the current aging society, the European MyHeart Project was created, whose mission is to empower citizens to fight CVD by leading a preventive lifestyle and being able to be diagnosed at an early stage. This paper presents the development of a Heart Failure Management System, based on daily monitoring of Vital Body Signals, with wearable and mobile technologies, for the continuous assessment of this chronic disease. Design of Real Time Heart Rate Monitoring System With ARDUINO UNO R3 Based on Android Application

The heart is an important organ for humans. Heart disease has claimed many lives. It happened because not everyone can do regular heart checks. High cost and time wasted could be the reason. Even a lot of heart disease is detected when a disease was so severe that treatment be late. Though the heart is the organ that affects other organs, in other words, the good performance of the heart as the source of much-needed work of other organs. One of the things that can be done is to check regularly to determine the condition of the heart through a number of heartbeats per minute. By knowing the condition of the heart then anyone can change the pattern of life and maintain food intake better, so that the heart will change to a more healthy condition. Therefore the heart rate monitoring system application to be made. Only by writing gender and age, everyone can use it and do not have to wait for a medical expert. The application can determine the condition of the heart in good condition, weak or bad through the calculation of the number of heartbeats using easy way, so that they can consult with medical experts and of course heart health can be maintained without taking expensive and complicated way, simply by changing lifestyle and exercise regularly.
