Model-Based Policy Search for Automatic Tuning of Multivariate PID Controllers
PID control architectures are widely used in industrial applications. Despite
their low number of open parameters, tuning multiple, coupled PID controllers
can become tedious in practice. In this paper, we extend PILCO, a model-based
policy search framework, to automatically tune multivariate PID controllers
purely based on data observed on an otherwise unknown system. The system's
state is extended appropriately to frame the PID policy as a static state
feedback policy. This renders PID tuning possible as the solution of a finite
horizon optimal control problem without further a priori knowledge. The
framework is applied to the task of balancing an inverted pendulum on a seven
degree-of-freedom robotic arm, thereby demonstrating its capabilities of fast
and data-efficient policy learning, even on complex real world problems.Comment: Accepted final version to appear in 2017 IEEE International

A robust adaptive robot controller
A globally convergent adaptive control scheme for robot motion control with the following features is proposed. First, the adaptation law possesses enhanced robustness with respect to noisy velocity measurements. Second, the controller does not require the inclusion of high gain loops that may excite the unmodeled dynamics and amplify the noise level. Third, we derive for the unknown parameter design a relationship between compensator gains and closed-loop convergence rates that is independent of the robot task. tools since it was proposed in 1983. This paper introduces the origins of
Disturbance Observer and presents a survey of the major results on Disturbance
Observer-based robust control in the last thirty-five years. Furthermore, it
explains the analysis and synthesis techniques of Disturbance Observer-based
robust control for linear and nonlinear systems by using a unified framework.

Circle grid fractal plate as a turbulent generator for premixed flame: an overview
This review paper focuses to ascertain a new approach in turbulence generation on the structure of premixed flames and external combustion using a fractal grid pattern. This review paper discusses the relationship between fractal pattern and turbulence flow. Many researchers have explored the fractal pattern as a new concept of turbulence generators, but researchers rarely study fractal turbulence generators on the structure premixed flame. The turbulent flow field characteristics have been studied tand investigated in a premixed combustion application. In terms of turbulence intensity, most researchers used fractal grid that can be tailored so that they can design the characteristic needed in premixed flame. This approach makes it extremely difficult to determine the exact turbulent burning velocity on the velocity fluctuation of the flow. The decision to carry out additional research on the effect circle grid fractal plate as a turbulent generator for premixed flame should depends on the blockage ratio and fractal pattern of the grid.
