Topic Map Generation Using Text Mining

    Get PDF
Starting from text corpus analysis with linguistic and statistical analysis algorithms, an infrastructure for text mining is described which uses collocation analysis as a central tool. This text mining method may be applied to different domains as well as languages. Some examples taken form large reference databases motivate the applicability to knowledge management using declarative standards of information structuring and description. The ISO/IEC Topic Map standard is introduced as a candidate for rich metadata description of information resources and it is shown how text mining can be used for automatic topic map generation

AOSD Ontology 1.0 - Public Ontology of Aspect-Orientation

    Get PDF
This report presents a Common Foundation for Aspect-Oriented Software Development. A Common Foundation is required to enable effective communication and to enable integration of activities within the Network of Excellence. This Common Foundation is realized by developing an ontology, i.e. the shared meaning of terms and concepts in the domain of AOSD. In the first part of this report, we describe the definitions of an initial set of common AOSD terms. There is general agreement on these definitions. In the second part, we describe the Common Foundation task in detail

Knowledge management systems are an emerging area gaining interest in organisations. This paper discusses the application of case based reasoning techniques and intelligent agents in the knowledge acquisition phase of knowledge management systems so that an intelligent knowledge acquisition process is possible

Supporting public decision making in policy deliberations: An ontological approach

This is the post-print version of the Paper. The official published version can be accessed from the link below - Copyright @ 2011 SpringerSupporting public decision making in policy deliberations has been a key objective of eParticipation which is an emerging area of eGovernment. EParticipation aims to enhance citizen involvement in public governance activities through the use of information and communication technologies. An innovative approach towards this objective is exploiting the potentials of semantic web technologies centred on conceptual knowledge models in the form of ontologies. Ontologies are generally defined as explicit human and computer shared views on the world of particular domains. In this paper, the potentials and benefits of using ontologies for policy deliberation processes are discussed. Previous work is then extended and synthesised to develop a deliberation ontology. The ontology aims to define the necessary semantics in order to structure and interrelate the stages and various activities of deliberation processes with legal information, participant stakeholders and their associated arguments. The practical implications of the proposed framework are illustrated. This work is funded by the European Commission under the 2006/1 eParticipation call

Dynamic Prediction of retail Website Visitors\u27 Intentions

    Get PDF
This paper presents a model for identifying general intentions of consumers visiting a retail website. When visiting a transactional website, consumers have various intentions such as browsing (i.e., no purchase intention), purchasing a product in the near future, or purchasing a particular product during their current visit. By predicting these intentions early in the visit, online merchants could personalize their offer to better fulfill the needs of consumers. We propose a simple model which enables classifying visitors according to their intentions after only four traversals (clicks). The model is based solely on navigation patterns which can be automatically extracted from clickstream. The results are presented and extensions of the model are proposed

The role of Software Engineering Domain in Knowledges Concentration systems is investigated. Main decisions about reusing program recourses modelling are discussed and special dependencies in ontological descriptions of such models are proposed. Also some decision with synonymy are propose
