The electronic commerce is a modern emerging agricultural trading pattern, which brings deep influences on the commercial circulation. The traditional agricultural product supply chain consists of the producer, local market of production and sale place, wholesaler and retailer. This pattern features low circulation efficiency and big consumption of the agricultural products. To overcome these problems, the emerging agricultural product supply chain based on electronic commerce seamlessly integrates production, processing, circulation and consumption steps of agricultural products in order to fully share the supply chain information, reduce the trading cost and shorten the trading cycle. By analyzing the current conditions of the agricultural products in Zhejiang province, this paper points out problems in circulation of agricultural products in Zhejiang province, proposes supply chain integration model of agricultural products in Zhejiang province based on electronic commerce, analyzes strengths of the integration model, and proposes the recommended strategy for the supply chain of agricultural products under the electronic commerce environment in China

Abstract— The modern development of the agricultural business in the world is focused on a system of flexible network management, innovations, information, and intellectual property. Large companies are of great significance in this process; agricultural holdings are very important in Russian agricultural business. Unfortunately, the Russian agribusiness sector is dominated by small and medium-sized enterprises, namely, concurrent enterprises, farms, small businesses in rural areas. They produce and market agricultural products. Therefore, supply chain management in agricultural business requires digitalization and the use of flexible management methods. The purpose of the research is to study agile supply chain management methods in agricultural business. We have considered such flexible methods as a digital platform and a blockchain technology, which contribute to the partnership between small and medium-sized agrifood enterprises by creating a digital network platform for all parties interested in the agricultural product. These methods are more productive compared to the traditional approaches; they provide more efficient interaction between manufacturers, consumers and intermediaries in the flow of goods and services through the supply chain. Unfortunately, agile supply chain management in the agricultural business of Russia has not been widely introduced yet, which makes it difficult to collect analytical information. We believe that this may be explained by the predominance of small and medium-sized enterprises in the country, the lack of digital platforms that act as intermediaries in the supply chain to connect crop producers and consumers

Since the melamine incident was reported in China, China’s dairy industry attracts more and more attention, leading some scholars to conduct research on quality management and safety monitoring issues of China’s dairy industry. The technology of the Internet of Things (IOT) is viewed as one of the best ways to solve the safety problems of China’s dairy industry by supporting the development of dairy traceability systems. This paper firstly analyses the current situation of China’s dairy industry supply chain to get at the root of the problem. We then propose an IOT-enabled quality management framework which is an innovation mode of quality management in China’s dairy industry supply chain. To further highlight the important role of IOT technology, we employ a business process modeling approach based on data flow perspective to describe this innovation management mode. The artifacts we design, especially the matrix of dairy products and process information, can help the practitioners to efficiently monitor the quality information of dairy products

agroString: Visibility and Provenance through a Private Blockchain Platform for Agricultural Dispense towards Consumers

    Get PDF
It is a known fact that large quantities of farm and meat products rot and are wasted if correct actions are not taken, which may lead to serious health issues if consumed. There is no proper system for tracking and communicating the status of the goods to their respective stakeholders in a secure way. Consumers have every right to know the quality of the products they consume. Using monitoring tools, such as the Internet of Agricultural Things (IoAT), and modern data protection techniques for storing and sharing, will help mitigate data integrity issues during the transmission of sensor records, increasing the data quality. The visibility state at the customer end is also improved, and they are aware of the agricultural product’s conditions throughout the real-time distribution process. In this paper, we developed and implemented a CorDapp application to manage the data for the supply chain, called “agroString”. We collected the temperature and humidity data using IoAT-Edge devices and various datasets from multiple sources. We then sent those readings to the CorDapp agroString and successfully shared them among the relevant parties. With the help of a Corda private blockchain, we attempted to increase data integrity, trust, visibility, provenance, and quality at each logistic step, while decreasing blockchain and central system limitations
