Building Class Diagrams Sistematically
The class diagram has become more important since the object-oriented paradigm has acquired more acceptance. This importance has been translated also in the new field of web engineering. However, in a lot of cases, it is not easy to get the best class diagram in a problem. For this reason, it is necessary to offer systematic processes (as cheaper and easier as possible) to give a suitable reference to the development team. This work presents two different processes developed in the University of Nice and in the University of Seville and applies them to the same problem comparing the results and getting some important conclusions
Model-driven in reverse. The practical experience of the AQUA project
Model-Driven Web Engineering (MDWE) is a new paradigm which provides satisfactory results in software development. However, most experiments with MDWE towards the development of software from the requirements to the implementation stages. However, in practice, sometimes software development does not follow this classic path. In this paper, MDWE is presented as a suitable selection in software
projects of technological evolution. The AQUA project is a very large and important project which is a fusion of three previous systems. Thus, this project starts with the original code of these three systems. The paper introduces the power of MDWE in this kind of systems.Ministerio de Educación y Ciencia TIN2007-67843-C06_03Ministerio de Educación y Ciencia IN2007-30391-
A metamodel for software requirement patterns
[Context and motivation] Software Requirement Patterns (SRP) are a type of artifact that may be used during requirements elicitation that also impact positively in other activities like documentation and validation. In our experiences, SRP show a great percentage of reuse for the non-functional requirements needed in call-for-tender requirement specifications. [Question/problem] We are facing the need of formulating the accurate definition of SRP for their use in call-for-tender processes to allow reasoning rigorously and know more about their semantics and applicability.
[Principal ideas/results] In this paper we present a metamodel for SRP around three main concepts: 1) the structure of SRP themselves; 2) the relationships among them; 3) the classification criteria for grouping them.
[Contribution] We provide a rigorous definition that shows the concepts that are of interest when defining and applying SRP.Peer ReviewedPostprint (author's final draft
Using NDT and the Restrictions Satisfactions Techniques to Generate Cultural Tours
The rise of interest for knowing more about the cultural heritage grew in the last years. The advances of
communications and the new technologies, and also the use of Internet, opened a new via to spread out the
information in tourist information centres and centres to manage heritage information. This new way is
producing the necessity to develop new enquiry systems via Internet (Escalona et al., 2002). In this sense, the
power of expression offered by the cualitative knowledge to do queries is very suitable in this kind of systems.
In this work, a real problem to offer information to the tourist about the cultural heritage in Andalusia is
presented. This system lets the user, with a very easy interface, selects cultural routes adapted to his
preferences. These routes are designed using some constraints defined by the user in his cultural visit. In order
to get this system, we proposed to apply technologies based on cualitative reasoning (Kuipers et al., 1994) as
asuitable base to solve the problem of cultural routes. Also, we propose use semicualitative (Kay, 1996)
reasoning techniques to develop the interface more suitable and web methodologies to design the system
