Koszul binomial edge ideals
It is shown that if the binomial edge ideal of a graph defines a Koszul
algebra, then must be chordal and claw free. A converse of this statement
is proved for a class of chordal and claw free graphs
Vertex decomposable graphs, codismantlability, Cohen-Macaulayness and Castelnuovo-Mumford regularity
We call a (simple) graph G codismantlable if either it has no edges or else
it has a codominated vertex x, meaning that the closed neighborhood of x
contains that of one of its neighbor, such that G-x codismantlable. We prove
that if G is well-covered and it lacks induced cycles of length four, five and
seven, than the vertex decomposability, codismantlability and
Cohen-Macaulayness for G are all equivalent. The rest deals with the
computation of Castelnuovo-Mumford regularity of codismantlable graphs. Note
that our approach complements and unifies many of the earlier results on
bipartite, chordal and very well-covered graphs
Regularity of Edge Ideals and Their Powers
We survey recent studies on the Castelnuovo-Mumford regularity of edge ideals
of graphs and their powers. Our focus is on bounds and exact values of and the asymptotic linear function , for in terms of combinatorial data of the given graph Comment: 31 pages, 15 figure
Monomial ideals whose powers have a linear resolution
In this paper we consider graded ideals in a polynomial ring over a field and
ask when such an ideal has the property that all of its powers have a linear
resolution. In particular it is shown that all powers of a monomial ideal with
2-linear resolution have again a linear resolution
On hereditary graph classes defined by forbidding Truemper configurations: recognition and combinatorial optimization algorithms, and χ-boundedness results
Truemper configurations are four types of graphs that helped us understand the structure of several well-known hereditary graph classes. The most famous examples are perhaps the class of perfect graphs and the class of even-hole-free graphs: for both of them, some Truemper configurations are excluded (as induced subgraphs), and this fact appeared to be useful, and played some role in the proof of the known decomposition theorems for these classes.
The main goal of this thesis is to contribute to the systematic exploration of hereditary graph classes defined by forbidding Truemper configurations. We study many of these classes, and we investigate their structure by applying the decomposition method. We then use our structural results to analyze the complexity of the maximum clique, maximum stable set and optimal coloring problems restricted to these classes. Finally, we provide polynomial-time recognition algorithms for all of these classes, and we obtain χ-boundedness results
