CONTEXT-BASED AUTOSUGGEST ON GRAPH DATA
Autosuggest is an important feature in any search applications. Currently, most applications only suggest a single term based on how frequent that term appears in the indexed documents or how often it is searched upon. These approaches might not provide the most relevant suggestions because users often enter a series of related query terms to answer a question they have in mind. In this project, we implemented the Smart Solr Suggester plugin using a context-based approach that takes into account the relationships among search keywords. In particular, we used the keywords that the user has chosen so far in the search text box as the context to autosuggest their next incomplete keyword. This context-based approach uses the relationships between entities in the graph data that the user is searching on and therefore would provide more meaningful suggestions
Web and Semantic Web Query Languages
A number of techniques have been developed to facilitate
powerful data retrieval on the Web and Semantic Web. Three categories
of Web query languages can be distinguished, according to the format
of the data they can retrieve: XML, RDF and Topic Maps. This article
introduces the spectrum of languages falling into these categories
and summarises their salient aspects. The languages are introduced using
common sample data and query types. Key aspects of the query
languages considered are stressed in a conclusion
XML document design via GN-DTD
Designing a well-structured XML document is important for the sake of readability and maintainability. More importantly, this will avoid data redundancies and update anomalies when maintaining a large quantity of XML based documents. In this paper, we propose a method to improve XML structural design by adopting graphical notations for Document Type Definitions (GN-DTD), which is used to describe the structure of an XML document at the schema level. Multiples levels of normal forms for GN-DTD are proposed on the basis of conceptual model approaches and theories of normalization. The normalization rules are applied to transform a poorly designed XML document into a well-designed based on normalized GN-DTD, which is illustrated through examples

Towards MKM in the Large: Modular Representation and Scalable Software Architecture
MKM has been defined as the quest for technologies to manage mathematical
knowledge. MKM "in the small" is well-studied, so the real problem is to scale
up to large, highly interconnected corpora: "MKM in the large". We contend that
advances in two areas are needed to reach this goal. We need representation
languages that support incremental processing of all primitive MKM operations,
and we need software architectures and implementations that implement these
operations scalably on large knowledge bases.
We present instances of both in this paper: the MMT framework for modular
theory-graphs that integrates meta-logical foundations, which forms the base of
the next OMDoc version; and TNTBase, a versioned storage system for XML-based
document formats. TNTBase becomes an MMT database by instantiating it with

Data Model and Query Constructs for Versatile Web Query Languages
As the Semantic Web is gaining momentum, the need for
truly versatile query languages becomes increasingly apparent. A Web
query language is called versatile if it can access in the same query program
data in different formats (e.g. XML and RDF). Most query languages
are not versatile: they have not been specifically designed to cope
with both worlds, providing a uniform language and common constructs
to query and transform data in various formats. Moreover, most of them
do not provide a flexible data model that is powerful enough to naturally
convey both Semantic Web data formats (especially RDF and
Topic Maps) and XML. This article highlights challenges related to the
data model and language constructs for querying both standard Web
and Semantic Web data with an emphasis on facilitating sophisticated
reasoning. It is shown that Xcerpt’s data model and querying constructs
are particularly well-suited for the Semantic Web, but that some adjustments
of the Xcerpt syntax allow for even more effective and natural
querying of RDF and Topic Maps
