    The influence of technology, environment and user acceptance on the effectiveness of information system project selection using SEM

    The selection of the present information system project is difficult because of the many factors that influence it. Information system project should pay attention to the user acceptance, technology and the environment in terms of their influence on the information system project selection.The purpose of this paper is to determine how much influence user acceptance, technology and the environment have on the information system project selection.This research uses data obtained from several ministries and analyzed using SEM (Structural Equation Models).The results found that the technology and the environment affects user acceptance. Moreover, technology and environment affect the effectiveness of the information systems project selection through the mediating effect of user acceptance. User acceptance, tested by the incorporation of usefulness and ease of use, the results are more modest and in line with previous theories. Furthermore, the external environment highly impacts the information system project selection

    Creating a User Satisfaction Index from a Parsimonious Survey Instrument

    In this paper we present a comprehensive method for creating a user satisfaction index using a survey instrument. First we construct a parsimonious survey instrument, using the PageRank Centrality, to measure attributes of user satisfaction. Then confirmatory factor analysis is applied to extract ``weights\u27\u27 on the questions that are used in a linear model of computing the user satisfaction index. Throughout the paper an analysis of an existing data set is implemented to illustrate the proposed method. In addition the validity of the confirmatory factor model is tested using bootstrap sampling

    Critical review of the e-loyalty literature: a purchase-centred framework

    Over the last few years, the concept of online loyalty has been examined extensively in the literature, and it remains a topic of constant inquiry for both academics and marketing managers. The tremendous development of the Internet for both marketing and e-commerce settings, in conjunction with the growing desire of consumers to purchase online, has promoted two main outcomes: (a) increasing numbers of Business-to-Customer companies running businesses online and (b) the development of a variety of different e-loyalty research models. However, current research lacks a systematic review of the literature that provides a general conceptual framework on e-loyalty, which would help managers to understand their customers better, to take advantage of industry-related factors, and to improve their service quality. The present study is an attempt to critically synthesize results from multiple empirical studies on e-loyalty. Our findings illustrate that 62 instruments for measuring e-loyalty are currently in use, influenced predominantly by Zeithaml et al. (J Marketing. 1996;60(2):31-46) and Oliver (1997; Satisfaction: a behavioral perspective on the consumer. New York: McGraw Hill). Additionally, we propose a new general conceptual framework, which leads to antecedents dividing e-loyalty on the basis of the action of purchase into pre-purchase, during-purchase and after-purchase factors. To conclude, a number of managerial implementations are suggested in order to help marketing managers increase their customers’ e-loyalty by making crucial changes in each purchase stage

    The purpose of this paper is to present the development and validation of a measurement model for student user satisfaction in a laptop environment. Using a “quasi Delphi” method in addition to contributions from prior research we used EFA and CFA (LISREL) to identify a five factor (14 item) measurement model that best fit the data. The structural model identified two factors related to overall student satisfaction. Suggestions and implications for how to use this measure are provided

    Evaluating the impact of technology investments is a complex task. I examine whether the end-user satisfaction is a valid measurement of technology performance in the public sector. I evaluated information system users in the Integrated System of the Federal Government Financial Administration (SIAFI). The Siafi system supports Brazilian federal government entities. Using a survey, I collected data from 77 users. I used the model and the instrument developed by Doll and Torkzadeh (1988). I used confirmatory factor analysis to evaluate the data. The survey results validated the model used for technology employed in the public sector.Avaliar o impacto de investimentos em tecnologia é uma tarefa complexa. Esta pesquisa analisa se a mensuração do nível de satisfação dos usuários é válida para compreender o desempenho de uma tecnologia utilizada no setor público. O objeto de estudo escolhido foi o Sistema Integrado de Administração Financeira do Governo Federal - SIAFI. O desenvolvimento da pesquisa foi realizado através de uma survey da qual participaram 77 usuários. Para isto, foram utilizados o modelo e o instrumento desenvolvidos por Doll e Torkzadeh (1988). A técnica estatística empregada foi a análise fatorial confirmatória. Os resultados da pesquisa validaram o modelo utilizado para uma tecnologia empregada no setor público

    An Auditing Approach for ERP Systems Examining Human Factors that Influence ERP User Satisfaction

    This paper tries to connect the successful implementation and operation of the ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) information systems with people and their characteristics through a pilot survey. It examines the human factors that influence ERP user satisfaction. The presented survey tests 14 hypotheses and is based on the model developed by Zviran, Pliskin & Levin [21]. An additional factor has been added to the specified model, the self-efficacy factor analyzed by Bandura [1]. The results are based on 250 ERP users that responded to the survey. The key findings that were revealed by data analysis were that none of the human socio-demographic characteristics do influence ERP user satisfaction. Additionally it was found that perceived usefulness and self-efficacy are the key directors of the ERP user satisfaction. Moreover suggestions are given about how the companies should handle ERP usage in order to develop the prerequisites for increasing user satisfaction and productivity accordingly.ERP Audit, User Satisfaction, Perceived Usefulness

    An Empirical Study of Behavioral Factors Influencing Text Messaging Intention

    This manuscript provides a comprehensive review of many of the behavioral factors associated with the use of technology and tests their applicability to text messaging. The theories explored included End User Computer Satisfaction, Theory of Reasoned Action, Diffusion of Innovation, Theory of Planned Behavior, and Technology Acceptance Model. In addition, Positive and Negative Emotion factors were developed and tested to examine their influence on text messaging behavioral intention. Several statistical processes were utilized to develop and confirm the factors. The results of the study suggest that no one model can fully explain texting behavior but several factors did have a significant influence on intention at p \u3c .05. These factors were Attitude, Compatibility, Ease of Use, Satisfaction, and Visibility. These factors can serve as areas that practitioners and researchers can focus on to improve text messaging intention and obtain the significant benefits of this technology
